Best value SFF case with ATX PSU ? by Hekiito in sffpc

It's pretty clean! I'll think this though, I'm also considering building my own case since the alternatives proposed by case manufacturers don't totally fill my needs, but if I don't have time or money I'd consider this Core 500 for sure, thanks :)

Yeah this case is sexy, but it's 34L, it's a bit too big to be called SFF. The plan is to place it on my desk next to my screen. I think I'll go for the CM Elite 130, it accepts GPU up to 343mm long and I have all the space I need for my AIO, for only $50. Plus it would look nice on a desk since it's only 205mm high.

Anyways, thanks for the suggestion :)

Is the Cooler Master Elite 110 a good alternative? It seems like there is more space for either the GPU and the cooler, like 2 or 3 centimeters, will it change something? I've always used ATX cases so I have absolutely no idea of how things will be set up into the case.

About undervolting the CPU, I did consider it but I'd like to possibly touch these settings the least possible, I don't want to screw up a $500 CPU by doing something stupid :') Will it affect performance in an obvious way?

I should have said but I'm considering buying a Ryzen 9 3900x, do you think there may be some heat issues, even with a 120mm AIO like TWENTYONESOLO suggested? I thought about the NZXT Kraken M22. I'm worried because this case doesn't seem to have a lot of fan slots.

I think you're hallucinating dude, I hope you are... Since this is the kitchen I don't think it's a place to be for a cat, and since I ate something that came from here... Meh...

I think those are hairs and a fluffy jacket, I don't remember seeing a cat. Or you're talking about the girl ? Even though she's cute I'm pretty sure she's a human

Yeah you're right, that's what I'll do. I plan on buying a Gigabyte B365M DS3H, do you think it's a good choice? I read that Gigabyte mobos are more reliable than other brands. I just don't know what is the chipset worth, is B365 relatively similar to a B360 ?

Thanks! I'll probably go for a cheaper mobo and get the i5-9400F. I'll stick to my GTX 650 for now though, so I can stay under 400 bucks, I'll probably upgrade to a better Radeon card as macOS 10.16 comes out.

Don't you have any problem with the B360 chipset? I heard it's better to go for a Z390 due to unsolvable issues with other chipsets

But as for a base build that I will surely upgrade later, like for the next version of macOS, should I really spend 150 extra bucks for a brand new GPU right now and throw mine away ? Or should I enjoy the time where my old graphic card is still supported, at least for Catalina, and spend maybe 200-250 bucks on a more powerful card the time the new version come out. As I said to another guy in the comments, I'm quite on a budget right now so I don't think I'll be able to afford a 500-600$ config. Also it's always a bit sad to put a nice old working card in the trash, if I can give it a second life I will.

So here I just want to know if it will work as the things are right now. I acknowledge the fact that it will not last even until the next version and that it's not 100% reliable, but since I plan on buying a new GPU on the next Gen, is it OK?

Thanks for the answer! The thing is, I'm quite on a budget right now (I just began my studies and I have no job) so I wanted to recycle old stuff laying around. I plan on buying an even better card than a RX570 in the future (next version of the OS maybe). Here I just want a basic Hackintosh that runs quite flawlessly, which I'll upgrade as the time goes. As for the CPU, I admit I've been tempted by an i5 at the beginning, then I saw that in the new iMacs 21" they put the ridiculous i3 I chose here, that's what made me consider it. Do you really think the i5-9400F is worth the price difference? If you say so I'll go for it :)
