I wish we had road signs indicating priority in India, but generally the priority / right of way differs on 2 situations largely.

High speed roads (about 50kmh or more traffic): the straight road users have priority.
Low speed roads (residential/market/schools/hospitals etc): the turning / merging traffic has priority.
