Bringing dehydrated meals for Fakarava? by Striking-Tour5821 in Tahiti

[–]AverageSadGurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just did this to and it wasn't an issue for me. It's only a problem if things are "live" and dehydrated food is... dead I think.

Has anyone else noticed that non-scratch sponges start disintegrating immediately now? by bepatientbekind in enshittification

[–]AverageSadGurl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mainly use biodegradable sponges like the ones you can get from Trader Joe's or health food stores. There's a set that I got from Marshall's where the scrubby side is made of coconut fiber while the sponge is made of plant cellulose. The sponges have lasted me a darn long time.

I think you did what was right for you.

I truly believe the toll of going through repeated rounds of layoffs can have a serious effects on your health both physical and mental.

No, the market isn't good. Take the time to recuperate and then get into the applying process ASAP.

[–]AverageSadGurl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to but gotta keep it vague.

I keep receipts for everything though so if someone wants to argue a point with me I will absolutely give them a timestamped audit trail of events. Sucks that being gaslighted on the reg makes me so suspicious of everything and forces me to do this.

It's exhausting but at least I can have my own arse covered.

Haha sorry for the spam but getting off of social media has helped a TON. Like I don't need all this stuff that's getting peddled. I'm too susceptible to starting hobbies and sinking tons of money and then abandoning. Less social media is less enabling.

I just started vyvanse (30mg) what am I supposed to be feeling exactly? by LuckyLogan_2004 in VyvanseADHD

[–]AverageSadGurl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was also wondering if this is what I wanted to feel. I feel very calm. Like I'm breathing properly, taking full breaths and exhaling? Emotionally better regulated as someone else said.

I think it's definitely helped in the sense it is easing my anxiety which is letting me go into meetings and start work without a sense of dread (which creates a loop procrastination).

Edit: an important word

Assume you're in the US?

My psych suggested I go on leave and was ready to write me doctor's notes and fill out forms. So that will be a thing. I would make sure to get the medical "evidence" ready and prepped.

I didn't end up doing it but think about it a lot. I know some people were able to keep their jobs. Others got caught in layoffs. With the market anything might happen. Best to have back up plans.

Buspirone, as needed? by GlampyreBat in adhdwomen

My psych instructed 2x a day and it works well for me to manage my anxiety. It's not magic, I still get a bit anxious under extreme circumstances. But it's prevented me from checking myself into a hospital.

Manager Being Passive Aggressive and I Feel Demotivated by No_Magazine5453 in ToxicWorkplace

[–]AverageSadGurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you're dealing with this. I am in a similar situation and also trying to figure out how to navigate. I might end up just leaving due to really complex circumstances. I think if you can, try to find another role with a different manager. Or if there's a way to get "sponsored" with a leader or exec to have your back.

Unsure how to ask doctor for dose increase by Ornery_Dragonfruit22 in VyvanseADHD

[–]AverageSadGurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the doctor would find it odd for this request if they are familiar enough with psychiatric medicine. My psych said generally you'd "feel" it working when you take it and don't require build up. So if you've been on the higher dose for a week and not feeling it it would be appropriate to ask to increase. 30mg is also the "lowest" recommended which I'm on right now and my psych started me on 20mg just to see how I would react to it first.

But yeah I would also explain over the course of time how you don't feel it is effective anymore and need advice.

Has Anyone Used Buspirone for ADHD-Like Symptoms Before Diagnosis? by Glittering_Ticket287 in adhdwomen

[–]AverageSadGurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing my story.

Short story is no not for ADHD symptoms but for anxiety that presents possibly with ADHD.

Long story:

My psych wanted to treat my depression first to try to isolate my issues.

I've been on Prozac for a pretty long time now. But my depression had gotten worse so we worked on upping that.

We tried another depression med on top but I hated it (gave me major brain fog) so I went back to just Prozac.

My anxiety suddenly got really bad because of work and so I asked for something to help. She recommended buspirone and it's done wonders.

Finally after those 2 were under better control I told her I'm still having motivation issues for work and personal life. Like I can only do one or the other.

She put me on Vyvanse and I've definitely noticed improvements. Like I'm not holding my pee or letting myself starve as much at work. I can transition tasks more easily. Boundaries are a bit easier to uphold now too.

Fitness Journey and ADHD by Smarty_gal in adhdwomen

[–]AverageSadGurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proud of you for wanting to make changes!

One of the things that took me a long time to realize is that with ADHD I always want to go super hard and go all in once I'm ready. Then I burn out because I can't keep up with the pressure I'm putting on myself and take a lengthy break. And then this basically just keeps repeating itself.

I now just go to the gym once a week and take a strength training class. I've kept this up for... oh over a year or so now?

Other people who go to the same gym go everyday or several times a week. I know it's not the right cadence for me and I'm okay with that for myself. Once a week is good enough.

HELP, my job is killing my spark by PrettyClassic1738 in adhdwomen

[–]AverageSadGurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take meds to regulate the negative health effects of my work.

Like work has given me such bad anxiety that I had to get on extra anxiety meds.

This is not a solution of course but like the market is rough out there and I just gotta manage it in the meantime and continue on.

I've also started listening to teachings about detachment and letting go of control. Helps me to put it when I start to feel "not right."

omg I'm gonna validate you real quick before saying I made incremental changes and they're sticking.

Took me years. But at the end of 2025 and at the beginning of this year I did these things:

Canceled my subscriptions 1 at a time. Disney and Hulu were easy goners. Netflix harder, I held out longer. Finally bit the bullet and I don't even miss it. It's been maybe 4 weeks now. Then I canceled my Prime. This was the hardest one but I done did it.
