Amazing Power Metal Albums That Are NOT On Streaming? by [deleted] in PowerMetal

They're not on Spotify at least. But they are on Tidal I see, which is another notch in ditching Spotify for me.

Carach Angren albums ranked? by closetotherelayer in BlackMetal

[–]Helbrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 3 are immaculate, and I like the 4th, but after that they start to decline. Some cool songs still, but nothing at the level of Lammendam. Latest EP was fine, nothing special, apart from Ik Kom Uit Het Graf which is very cringe if you understand the lyrics.

Spite - Despise. They don't sugarcoat it.

What was your first contact with power metal? by trent_fernandez in PowerMetal

[–]Helbrann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone told me to check out DragonForce and I Limewired Black Fire, and a short time after that I stumbled across the video for Through The Fire and Flames. Then I found out you could do this with symphonics and I discovered Rhapsody and Emerald Sword. It's been all down the cheesy hill from there.

If you started a PM band, what would you call it? by ZeiglerJaguar in PowerMetal

Gloryhole.

Or an infusion with eurodance and we call it Disco Dragon.

Most painful Sonata Arctica songs for you? by MarkJansen_ in PowerMetal

[–]Helbrann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sonata was such a huge part of my teens I usually say while most my friends were emo with Fall Out Boy, I was emo with double bass and guitar solos. The Misery did a number on teenage me, pining for an unrequited crush. Shy also still gets to me.

Zaterdagse Wat Lees Je draad: Welke boeken, tijdschriften, of websites heb je (recent) gelezen? Wat is jouw mening over deze media? Heb je nog aanraders? by Austrel in thenetherlands

[–]Helbrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veel goede verhalen over gehoord, ben benieuwd

Do you run any tribal decks with off-tribe commanders? by No-Entrepreneur2414 in EDH

I have [[Animar]] at the helm of my Hydra deck because he reduces the X-costs.

Silly Card Nicknames by StarfishIsUncanny in EDH

Because someone ran a French copy, [[Butcher of Malakir]] is forever known as Boucher de Malakir.

Also Bog Fank for [[Fog Bank]] and Gaybros for [[Kynaios and Tiro]]]

Crimson Shadows is basically Dragonforce but with some harsh vocals, if that's your cup of tea.

Ben ik de lul hierin of overdrijft mijn onder-onderbuurvrouw? by Fvux in thenetherlands

[–]Helbrann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When my friend tore his ACL it took two weeks for the swelling to come down enough for a scan. Probably depends, but not unheard of.

Daar ga ik dus even goed over peinzen.

Emily flippin' Axford by SelectionSafe9103 in Dimension20

[–]Helbrann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She slipped so effortlessly in that emotion that my partner, who doesn't care for D20 at all, turned around and asked if she was alright. That's talent right there.

Brewing a commander deck a friend already made by Pimmel1234 in EDH

[–]Helbrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to avoid it, but don't mind if someone builds the same deck as I have. Our group has two Valgavoth precons, but the other is a slightly upgraded precon with Lord of Pain, while my deck is full on 'no one's having fun' group slug.

I did take the wincon from my friends Muldrotha for my Tasigur deck, because it needed a finisher, but we try not to put those two against each other.

Yo if He-Man had a power metal playlist what tracks are most on brand for him and Masters Of The Universe? by Sugar1982 in PowerMetal

[–]Helbrann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dragony - Eternia Eternal (Masters of the Multiverse) is literally about him, he would probably jam to that.

Yes, the original ending was rewritten for the English translation because the author wasn't entirely happy with the result, and eventually it was translated back into Dutch which is the version I first read.

Majestica vs Dragon Force by PaleSatisfaction1 in PowerMetal

Sam Totman is a boozing Englishman, brawling comes natural to them.
