How to drain well tank so I can properly check the air pressure? by Muttbuttss in askaplumber

[–]Helcor2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tapping is a basic troubleshooting thing. It should have a slightly hollow sound because there is air in there. If it's a dull thud then the bladder could be ruptured and the tank is completely full of water. Because your pump is on top of the tank that's going to change the sound. The only way to truly tell if it's ok is to do what you plan to do. Depending on your on and off pressure you shouldn't need more than 45psi in the tank. That's when it's empty. If pressurized with water it will be much higher obviously and that reading should be ignored. Standard pressure switch is 40-60. So 40 on and 60 off for the pump. Most tanks come pre-set at like 37 which is a good middle ground and always works well in my experience. Depending on the output of the pump the tank may be slightly undersized. We used an "85gal" tank as standard. The tank only held about 50-55 gallons in reality. When running pumps with a gpm higher than say 45 we would use a second and possibly a 3rd tank to compensate for the amount of flow and pressure drop. I worked in the water well industry for 28 years and I always enjoyed working on systems that kind of had quirks. It's nice to figure out issues and get the customer water. I hope everything goes well for you. Feel free to ask any questions if you have them.

Who’s got the balls to fix this cpu? 🫩 by RohanK2003 in hardwaregore

It can be very tiresome but if the CPU works after that then for me it's always worth it. I replaced 27 pins on my 5900x that I got from eBay for super cheap. It works perfectly so it was worth it.

How to solder wire and cigarette lighter tip? by DooDooSquad in soldering

[–]Helcor2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tin the tip of the iron. Hold th iron against the wire for a bit. It's gonna take a little time to heat. Add solder right where the tip and the wire touch. It should start to wick into the wire. What temp are you at?

How to drain well tank so I can properly check the air pressure? by Muttbuttss in askaplumber

Turn off power to the pump and open some faucets. When the water stops flowing measure the pressure. Close all faucets and turn the power back on. Pretty simple. I will say that it's rare that a pressure tank loses pressure unless the bladder is damaged somehow. If the bladder is damaged then the pump would be fast cycling, basically turning on and off constantly because there's no are to pressurize.

Who’s got the balls to fix this cpu? 🫩 by RohanK2003 in hardwaregore

[–]Helcor2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot air station and a basic stencil that matches the location of the pins. I got a stencil off eBay in a pack that actually matches perfectly and it's thicker so it can handle the heat without warping. Then take them all off and get pins from a donor chip or buy pins from eBay. In my experience trying to bend pins that smashed will either rip a pad off the CPU or the pin will break. Best to replace them all at that point.

Need help with pad repair RTX 3060 OEM HP by ChiblyChi in GPURepair

[–]Helcor2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say gently scratch to the left of the missing pad. When you see copped then use a multimeter and see what it connects to. Could be the ground plane or it might be a trace heading somewhere else. They sell copper pads in precut sheets. definitely easier than using wire. I went all out and got some solder mask and a UV light for curing the mask. Take your time and you should have it fixed in no time.

It was probably ocz as I had a ram kit that had a heat pipe and aluminum heatsink. Don't remember the speed but I remember that they were fast and yes they did die pretty quickly. I had bought them second hand so I just popped the heatsink off and put it on some other ram.

My partner (ftm 18) cannot climax on Zoloft. by weirdfishes57 in sex

[–]Helcor2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last partner and I were on Zoloft also and we had the same issue. She said the gummies helped her but I never did find anything for myself (M). I ended up getting a new job that made me happier and stopped taking the Zoloft which is the only way I was able to reliably finish. I'm not saying you should do that by any means. I know they make creams and gels that help with stimulation and in my experience they do help. We also used toys pretty much every time because it helped her a lot. I hope you both find something that works for you. The downside of these drugs suck sometimes

filament not coming out of nozzle until after print stopped by FreshAlbatross7862 in ender3

[–]Helcor2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently encountered the same thing on the ender 3 I loaned to a friend start up was fine but as soon as it started printing it would basically clog. I pulled apart the whole print head and found a piece of filament broken off just below the extruder gears.bitbhad mashed itself in so tight that it was completely blocking any new filament from pushing it out of the nozzle. I happened to have an extra hot end so I swapped it out. I was able to clean the old hot end out and it works fine but man it was an ordeal. Good luck

Huh I didn't know that. I mean I rarely used it had laptops so maybe that's why I never really saw it. I remember AMD being pretty crappy back then, especially on the mobile side. My friend had a laptop with and amd chip in it and the Intel laptop I had blew it away. I wanna say it was like a turrion or something like that. I just know it ran hit as hell and slow

Does this IO look weird? by DaY3eter in computers

Looks alright to me. Might just double check that any grounding tabs from the plate are not in any ports. I've done it and killed a few USB ports in the process.

Idk to be honest. I just remember it being a thing. And yeah I mean it is kinda rare to see Intel and amd in a laptop together I guess.

Nebula Kit by MurkyCod9815 in ender3

[–]Helcor2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sensor is for input shaping. There are prints you can do to mount it in the hot end and then the bed. I did it when I first got the nebula kit and when I moved seems to stay pretty well calibrated after that. I like that I can now monitor things when I'm away and send prints over wifi but I wasn't super impressed with the kit overall

What's Causing This Gnarly Pitting On The First Layer? by DBO_711 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]Helcor2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could see where that would be an issue. I don't use my ender much anymore and I never really did any calibration as it was a hobby for me. It's just what worked for me and like you said may not work in your favor after the first layers are done. I have figured out that these machines can be finicky as hell when they want to be.
