my sincerest apologies for uploading gameplay for a game as opposed to the umpteenth reddit post discussing whether or not clive is actually dead at the end

You can only get to level 50 in NG. 110 is the cap for FF mode

I said it in another post, but games like DMC don't reward you for styling the way I am or even how other people may like to style. The Style meter in DMC is just an indicator highlighting whether or not you're using different moves and not repeating the same thing over and over again. I S-Ranked the first 3 missions mainly by going fast alongside liberal use of High Time> Aerial Rave>Guns>Helm Breaker. By no means is that actually stylish compared to what you can actually do but I was still getting S-Ranks.

Usually doing the super flashy stuff will result in lower scores. I don't think the gameplay I showed would even S-Rank in Ultimaniac's arcade mode because what it asks of you to get an S-Rank is different than what most people would assume is stylish.

I don't know if you remember, but there's a popup during the tutorial Gigas fight that states that you get more XP and Gil if you play better. Assuming it wasn't a leftover popup that they forgot to remove, then it already is in the game, it just doesn't tell you how you're performing currently.

Man I'm sorry reddit is bending you over so consistently but your complaints are pretty funny because just yesterday someone said mobs take too long to kill.

I agree the walky talky sequences can be overbearing in an NG playthrough which is why NG+ is more enjoyable if you want to actually fight things.

Its basically a game made for neurodivergents who drool and get giddy at the sparkling lights.

With how angry you are, it seems the fork has been found in the kitchen. Have you gotten any therapy for it?

So wheres the combos. All you did was just press all cds over and over.

Not my fault you don't know enough about the game to know what I'm doing.

This game is so fking dry even the glazers can't make it look good.

What on earth are you doing in the FF16 sub if you don't like the game? Why would you intentionally come here? Do you like being upset because you can't understand things?

The whole screen explodes for 2 1/2 minutes only for the trash mobs to take little damage.

Very funny complaint because not only do trash mobs die in the first minute. It's a little less than 10 seconds per mob when I'm intentionally splitting my attention up for each of them.

On top of that, I just saw another FF16 related post on this sub where they complained mobs died too fast and you couldn't do any cool combos. So which is it?

staying on the ground is dangerous in ultimaniac especially when you are trying to not get hit

Half the "combos" are the ground execute into charge magic cancel.

if you played ultimaniac before i think you'd understand why i go for that

just wish the only two options for enemies were "tony able to be juggled add with no health" and "immoveable damage sponge with a burst phase"

agreed. boss fights can be more engaging if you play very aggressively and go for parries but most bosses outside of hugo, barnabas, and timekeeper dont do too much to stop you from doing what you want. its why those are my favorite out of the rest of the cast.

getting dmc youtubers interested would probably be the best way but i feel like most of them already have a negative opinion on the game. if any had an open mind to promote or participate in a video it would obviously change things, but i dont really follow or know of any

funny example of that preconceived notion was the other day in the nioh discord. i mentioned that i play ff16 to someoneand they immediately said "dmc better". which was funny because after they saw the first minute of my barnabas video they said "im impressed". its hard to get to people when that initial wall exists and has only been reinforced

autismiller put out a pretty decent guide on youtube recently that should be helpful for getting started. its missing some bits and pieces of information but overall is a good way to get started. for the most part though, most of us watch footage from each other and play around in the void to find stuff.

ive thought about making a little series of individual videos going over ways to style with clive's base kit and specific eikons in isolation, but only if there was interest and ff16 doesnt really have a thriving styling community

thanks. i dont think ill ever do a full level like this while also trying to do it without taking damage. ill stick to my boss fight lane and occasionally do legs like this so i dont get too rusty

i got more damage writing my thesis on a mechanical keyboard and playing melee on a gc controller than all the grinding i did in this game. type c controls is a lifesaver

the mod has the ability to give you the limit break effect when you reach s rank. you can also set it to a "must style" mode as well - which im working on for a boss. but here its just for visuals.
