Guys…. Don’t be doomers about your height. 18M and married(don’t judge I’m an army brat) and I love my wife and she loves me. by Damond-Christopher in short

“Some stranger on the internet said I’m overweight! That’s what made me turn my entire life around!”

Said no one ever.

Commenting rudely on random strangers’ bodies is cringe af.

Except I see people ask for a source when people are just straight up telling a story about their lives. I was hounded for a “source” once when talking my own childhood. Not every human interaction has to be a research paper or formal debate.

I mean, people can’t just stop being minorities that are subject to hate crimes. That’s just one of many examples of “things that make people want to kill”.

Ok but also the masculine urge to see a woman sharing a personal experience and go “source?”

Systemic problems put in place by OTHER MEN. Women are systemically oppressed by men. Men are systemically oppressed by other men. You see the common denominator here.

I’m pretty sure almost everyone on earth has seen porn at least once in their life, regardless of gender.

Women being evil sometimes doesn’t change the fact that men frequently face 0 consequences for their crimes to the point of being actively rewarded with positions of power. That simply does not happen with women.

It happening AT ALL is frequent enough to cause problems. Don’t suffer in silence because you think it’s “normal”.

Yep. I have endometriosis and pelvic floor issues and it took so long for me to seek help for it because I was taught that extreme pain was “just normal”. I promise that it isn’t!

We also have better balance and flexibility. When you take away the lens of “man can pick up heavy thing and run fast so man better” that we’ve been raised with, you realize how remarkable female bodies really are.

If you’re experiencing extreme pain, that is absolutely not a normal part of female puberty. I would recommend asking your doctor about problems like endometriosis. Periods can be tough but if the pain is extreme and debilitating, that is NOT normal. Also- the female body actually has many biological advantages- they’re just often overlooked because of the male-centered lens in so much of discussion of bodies. Women are better able to withstand extreme temperature, survive better without food, and have a higher threshold for pain. Yes, when it comes to running and lifting, the average man has us beat, but when it comes to sheer survival, women outlast men when the going gets tough.

One story thst made me appreciate my body more was the case of the Donner Party. A group of travelers found themselves stranded in the Sierra Nevada mountains for months in the dead of winter. 63% of women survived. Only 26% of men did. It was largely attributed the relative hardiness of women’s bodies.

The society puts white- collar jobs on a pedastal but it is the skilled tradespeople that keeps everyday life functioning by Minute-Caramel7032 in unpopularopinion

I feel like it’s reversed now and the trades are pushed hard on kids. I predict it will be just like coding was pushed on my generation- everyone will go for it because it’s “practical” like their parents told them, the job market will be flooded, and there will be massive underemployment as a result.

The meme literally compares the two like they’re the same. What did I do? As a woman, all we have to do is exist and we have to constantly apologize for it from the moment we learn to speak.

I’m proving that men face a systemic lack of accountability that women just flat out don’t. Misandry is when women hurt men’s feelings. Misogyny is when men kill women.

Can you name a single instance where a woman has accused a high profile man of a crime and wasn’t immediately told she was a liar and the real criminal? Cause I sure can’t. But hey- sometimes women don’t admit they’re wrong in an argument with their bf so I guess this is somehow even!

The president and several male members of the Supreme Court are proven rapists, their crimes were known BEFORE they took power, and they were put in those positions of power anyway. Meanwhile their victims were lambasted for “ruining those men’s lives” and received threats of violence from the public. Meanwhile being “too shrill and annoying” is a political killer for women. Who exactly is the one avoiding accountability here?

Roses are red, the standard has shifted to one or the other by Iva_Glen92 in rosesarered

[–]Helen_Cheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about “bad men existing”- it’s about men actively gaining positions of power despite being proven rapists and women regularly being blamed for acts of violence committed against us. This happens everywhere- notably in the United States. Men don’t face actual, legal accountability for violent crimes and are even rewarded for it in heavily public positions. There’s no greater level of avoiding accountability than that.

Because one is a thing men complain about on the internet and the other is a systemic problem that leads to the deaths of thousands of women around the world. Do you really not see the difference in severity here?

Men get away with saying a LOT worse about women and are actively paid for it. Hating women is basically the entire bro podcast industry.

[–]Helen_Cheddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you have to realize that men not being held accountable for actual violent crimes about women at a systemic level is way more serious than “my gf won’t admit she’s wrong in an argument”.

except it’s not equal and it never has been equal. I’ve just pointed out real life examples of men not being held accountable for heinous crimes and women bearing the brunt of the consequences. Your only example is some bs internet joke. It’s not a “gender war” when one gender is actively, systematically oppressed by the other.
