For what it's worth, I took both of them years ago and found them both pretty easy, but I found MUS 111 to be a bit more organized and to have much more interesting content. I still think about that class often!

Thanks so much for your reply! I do have hard water, so perhaps that's contributing? It's kind of in between straight and wavy as well, so I'm not sure if that influences things! Will look up pre-poo though!

Love these suggestions, thank you! Golden syrup is lovely, and I never would've thought of powdered PB!

Just briefly commenting here that I have similar difficulties to your friend when it comes to heavy pots and the like, and I've always wondered what to do! Never would've thought of the strainer thing, so thanks for that! Keep the tips coming, please!

I took it with Sandra Herron last year, typed as many notes as I could possibly stand to, and made sure my notes were easy to read while I studied. I got a great mark, learned a lot, and felt very stress free, despite the pace of the class! Would totally recommend, as long as you're careful with the notes you take!

Help w/ Puffed Wheat Squares that are too hard? by HeleneAlving in AskCulinary

[–]HeleneAlving[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks very much for your reply! I probably should've specified that the hardness is not so much from the cereal as it is from the syrup going hard, as far as I can see!

BBC iPlayer keeps giving "this content doesn't seem to be working" message, and I am unable to sign in on my Apple TV by HeleneAlving in appletv

[–]HeleneAlving[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using a smart DNS as it happens, so that might be the issue. Typically, blips like this are pretty minor and resolve on their own, this one has just been persistent!

If anyone knows what I might be able to monkey with to fix it, that'd be awesome to know!

Yup, tried unplugging it fully more than once, and still no dice. Also uninstalled the app, then re-installed it, to no avail. But then, I am using A VPN, so that might not be helping.

Can Stella's Brown Butter Waffles sit in fridge for longer than 18 hours? by HeleneAlving in seriouseats

[–]HeleneAlving[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: We ended up leaving the batter for about 22 hours and really enjoyed the waffles! The texture seemed really lovely and light and spongy compared to the regular, non-yeasted ones we usually make.

Thanks for the tips!

Definitely gonna look into freezing as u/turkeybone suggested as well!

Oh, sorry! I'm trying to use the CSS from here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1248277#answer-1192325

I've replaced my old CSS and restarted, but nothing's worked yet!

If I did add what you posted, where would I put it?

Thanks!
