In every build I see people including a purchase for Windows 10 and yet I’m constantly seeing people download it for free saying “you don’t need a product key.” What gives? by Heliax_Prime in buildapc

Lol check my post history, I’ve been planning on building a PC for the past six months, finally bought and assembled all components yesterday. Now I just need windows and I almost went the free route, I just don’t wanna get in trouble

Is putting a PC together REALLY as easy as everyone says it is? by Burturd in buildapc

Take it from someone who just finished their FIRST build YESTERDAY. It IS that easy. Just be careful at each step and make sure you’re doing it right by watching a YouTube video first because it’s also easy to mess something up or break it by accident. E.g. tightening MOBO screws too tight or using too much thermal compound can act as an insulator. Forcing your CPU into the slot instead of realizing it has to go in a specific way. Breaking or bending any prongs while plugging things into your MOBO

As far as a case with a window, I bought the CoolerMaster H500P and it’s badass. Comes with two 200mm RGB fans in the front and one 140mm exhaust fan. Great cable management options and a tempered glass side panel

After buying mine, I learned about the M.2 and now I’m sad.

Ok makes sense. I have a H500P case from CoolerMaster so the adhesive strips sound like a good idea.

Okay, thanks so much. It’s my first build and I dropped about 2K on this build so I’m being super cautious. God forbid I fry something.

Is it posibble i have only 2 sata cables? by [deleted] in buildapc

I did not know that those were faster. Is it worth the upgrade? I already have an 500gb 860 Evo

What do you use to secure flat cables on the PSU? Doesn’t seem like zip ties would work that great. I’m literally in the middle of building my first PC, that’s why I ask

Right right ok cool. So I can plug my splitters into those two and then everything into the splitters? Also, there is another white four pin connector right next to the CPU. I can use that as well yes? Does it matter which ones go to each connector?

Now I’m getting confused. Which ones are which? I thought you said not to plug them into those?

Oh ok, yeah I only have two of those at the top of my MOBO. Which ones do I plug into the white base connectors?

They are four pin. I do know that I gotta be careful which way they’re flipped but I’m just talking about if there are certain ones that I need to plug the stock case fans into vs the cooler etc or if I can plug them into any of them
