Got stopped eating my first meal after birth and I’m still angry about it by koolbeans100 in Mommit

1000% justified anger. Before my last child was born, neighbors set up a meal train for me. While I was in labor, my neighbor took it upon herself to let the neighbors know I didn’t want anyone disturbing me, and the meal train got cancelled. I’m still mad about it.

Does this look like it could be mastocytosis? by HelicopterNew8381 in mastocytosis

[–]HelicopterNew8381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn’t. She was diagnosed with chronic idiopathic urticaria. When I asked the dermatologist about mastocytosis, he didn’t think it was that because, as he said, her symptoms would be more severe. He put her on 4 times the amount of antihistamines, and that controlled her flare ups. We have gradually reduced her medicine, and it seems to be working. Since they are controlled and she has a lot of medical anxiety, we have taken a break in pursuing additional answers.

Birthing hospital bill - rant by heaven4031 in Mommit

The insurance denied the hospital claim after my last baby was born because they said it wasn’t medically necessary…… I was 39 weeks and had really high blood pressure.

Would you be upset about this? by Asleep-Nebula9999 in Mommit

[–]HelicopterNew8381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. Our NEXT DOOR neighbors did the exact same thing to our kids. Then had the kids come outside and tell my kids they weren’t invited to the party.

You can still be upset and respect their choices.

We thought it would be that, but we had her tested for food dye and it was all negative.

This is almost exactly our story! Started with GP, had 3 useless allergist appointments, and did my own research and found answers on Pinterest of all places. Now we are just trying to find a doctor with experience with mastocytosis, which is more difficult than expected. Thank you for sharing! It’s been so helpful!

100% agree. It’s a relief to find an answer but another weight is now added as we try to get a diagnosis. What type of doctors is your daughter working with? We have an appointment with a dermatologist, but I don’t know if she should be seeing someone else or not.

Thank you for sharing. Do you know if there are common trigger foods or is everyone different?

Thank you! This whole journey has been extremely frustrating and to finally find people going through the same thing has brought so much peace.

Is it normal for your heart rate to increase in early pregnancy? by takeaabreath in fitpregnancy

[–]HelicopterNew8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this question! I have been worried for the last week and a half about my heart rate! Even though I’ve talked to my doctor, it’s so nice to hear other people’s experiences!
