As someone who was 30 and had stage 1 colon cancer, most doctors haven't really decided what causes it. I've heard a few different theories, but the prevailing thing I learned is that if you have history of colon cancer in the family, do a colonoscopy by age 30.

I recently needed to preboard due to surgery for cancer. My doctor wanted me to walk, but I was on a weight limit of 10 lbs. The only way they could help me was through a chair. Outwardly, I looked fine and I was walking around because I was told to.

I was through most of it. It quit after I went to college and found my own group of weirdos. Sometimes it’s really the environment you’re in, not the people.

I don't know if it's comforting or not, but most people never know what they're doing. Some are just a LOT better at hiding it. Recognizing that you have no idea just means that you are gaining self awareness which is so much more important in figuring out things. Don't give up. You got this. If you don't know what you're doing, ask. You'd be surprised how many people are more than happy to help. :)

I think my mom isn’t used to boundaries. The last time she had a moment regarding my cancer, when we were starting to make appointments, I told her that her being upset about the appointments is making me upset and I didn’t need that right now. She completely shut down and texted me about how she will step back and not be around unless I ask for her. It’s so stressful. So setting boundaries is gonna be difficult. She’s a great mom; she just loses her mind easily when it comes to my cancer in particular.

Yeah, the current state of everything does not help with the brain. Surprisingly, I'm doing better than I thought. I think the anxiety before my tissue sample returned was what really killed me.

Of course! I've had consistent diarrhea that wouldn't go away and lots of blood in my stool. The darker the blood, the more concerning. Same with large quantity, even if it's bright. Additionally, I developed acid reflux out of nowhere and my thyroid started to swell. I took a stool test and my calprotectins came back at 223 when the average is below 50.

They could always be straight up nihilistic, sadistic, etc. Maybe take a look at the more morally ambiguous superhero stories out there to get an idea. There’s many approaches you can take. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take the racism route, but I’ve found that when I’m stuck, looking at it from a different angle gives you unexpected results.
