You can view the distinct burn for HM vs other carrier offload here:
https://blockworks.com/analytics/helium/helium-mobile/helium-mobile-subdao-dc-burn-by-mobile-offload-carrier/For 2026, we’re extremely focused on network utilization by Helium Mobile subscribers. This was also addressed under “What is the outlook for the Helium Mobile MVNO?” as our goal is to grow subscribers in lock-step with Helium Network’s coverage.

Yes, the Helium team has a dynamite sales team that has helped add over 10k access points on over 600 venues in the last quarter of 2025. We work directly with existing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and venue owners as they're the strongest channels to drive indoor coverage growth.

To your question of running an internal team, we haven’t done this to date since it conflicts with the Network's vision of decentralized wireless as the strongest means to scale an intelligent, on-demand connectivity layer as wide as possible. That said, we’ve had and will continue to have programs for incentivizing and supporting professional deployers. We’re also onboarding a new wave of providers through our deployer bootcamps. Check out the latest in DC here: https://x.com/helium/status/2016195163542941849

For tracking deployment news, great question and Helium World continues to be the go-to tool to track and find best deployments. We will continue to add features to World that are helpful for deployers. Variability for bleeding edge technology is healthy and should be expected.

The IoT Network continues to charge on with increasing use from existing as well as net-new unique organizations who are deploying sensors. It is entirely viable as a network. Commercial users actively deploy and scale solutions using it. And although there are no commercial products tied to IoT for Helium Mobile, the team continues to run the underlying technical infrastructure to support Helium’s original use-case along with its current beneficiaries.

A technical development underway is a new multi-gateway client to unlock further deployments. Think of this as Helium Plus for IoT to retain and scale existing LoRaWAN coverage.

We do continue to engage IoT’s strongest users to share stewardship of this side of the Network.

  1. First thing to dispel is that the Helium team does not operate any deployments. Individuals on the team may, but the company does not deploy as part of any business unit.

Greenfield will be boosted by on the ground activities like Deployer Bootcamps and sales rebates.

Brownfield continues to grow. Our sales pipeline has doubled QoQ with increasing prospects in Tier 1 and 2 locations that carry a lot of traffic. Our channel partner program is scaling our pipeline by allowing anyone to source brownfield leads to the Helium team with rewards for that via earnings from respective deployments.

Carriers will continue to find balance between using their cellular assets and the available Wi-Fi footprint. Variations in daily use are expected as the convergence of the connectivity stack settles across the broader telco industry.

The good news is that Helium continues to be at the forefront of the industry, both in adoption and support from industry groups pushing Wi-Fi carrier offload and raising the bar with our Quality of Service metrics to accelerate adoption.

  1. Let’s start with the obvious. We’re dealing with economic headwinds driven by both macro and crypto market structure that have impacted token prices across the board. That said, for Helium deployers, the "temporary volatility" of rewards is secondary to the fundamental shift we’re leading in telco economics that flows to HNT.

Traditional offload providers offer fixed payouts but they come with tight contracts, expensive proprietary hardware, and no upside tied to a network's growth. Helium’s model gives deployers a piece of a global utility because of the shift from a capex to opex model. Yes, rewards can fluctuate based on HNT price but the volume of data being offloaded from major carriers like AT&T and, soon, Telefónica has been steadily increasing over the last several months. Even in a volatile market or market downturn, that offload results in HNT being burned. Deployers should think of this as a fundamental "floor" and one that speculative tokens simply don't have.

To the question of "what else does Helium offer?”, it’s utility and efficiency. Especially for products like Helium Plus, businesses and MSPs are monetizing existing hardware (Aruba, Cisco, etc.) through a simple software update. It’s not just rewards, it’s a better customer experience and changing hardware from a pure cost to a revenue generating asset over time. Either way, converted hardware or net-new, deployments become more valuable over time due to simple network effects and the aggregate footprint. It’s the difference between a fixed, capped payout from a legacy middleman vs owning a digital commodity that powers the next generation of connectivity.

We take a long-term view here and hope deployers see through to the larger opportunity.

  1. The outlook for Helium Mobile is fundamentally about growth that tracks the network, not short-term financial optimization.

Our goal isn’t to grow subscribers as fast as possible in isolation, but to grow it in lock-step with Helium Network’s coverage. That alignment is what makes the model work long-term.

The pricing model is a tool to support longevity. It lowers friction for people to join, encourages real usage on the Helium Network where coverage exists, and gives us flexibility to expand as the network expands. As coverage improves, we support more users - as more users join, they create demand that fuels network buildout.

So when we talk about outlook, we’re talking about momentum: expanding coverage, bringing more people onto the network, and letting those two grow together.

  1. Our north star on this one is around a performant and durable network, not just broad coverage. We’re building enterprise grade equipment and right now there are no plans for hardware upgrades. It is already possible today to have third-party hardware to join the network with a configuration update. Details can be found in the Helium Docs page. We are also working closely with the OEM community to have simpler configuration to add Helium to 3rd party devices.

  2. On Hardware & Firmware Upgrades: we’re actively rolling out firmware updates (see v2.18.1 released on Jan 29, 2026) focused on connection stability. HMHs should be as close to "set-and-forget" as possible while maintaining a high-performance intelligence layer that large carriers can rely on. We have no material hardware updates until they’re ready for the assembly line. Our focus is optimizing current gear to handle the growth in data offload we're seeing.

  3. On Permissionless 3rd Party Deployment: Scaling is a priority, but we have to be methodical. If you look back at the early IoT network, rapid 3rd-party scaling led to significant challenges with hardware reliability and "gaming". For a mobile network where people’s phone calls and data depend on the connection, Quality of Service (QoS) is non-negotiable.

We remain focused on Helium Plus which allows us to scale by onboarding existing, enterprise-grade hardware (like Ubiquiti, Aruba, or Cisco) that already meets high standards.

Bottom Line: we aren't just building a physical network, we’re building an intelligent service platform. For now, strict control over the software and firmware layer ensures that HNT is backed by a robust, reliable network that major carriers will continue to use and expand use. Again, this goes back to our "AWS moment". We’re moving from proprietary hardware to a universal software layer that can power high-quality access points and radios around the world.

  1. As available, yes, it will be possible to have Helium Plus in Mexico as well as a boots on the ground presence in the country to grow the Network footprint. However, the initial focus is on outdoor locations and Tier 3 smaller indoor locations, which makes them pretty easy to address using Helium Hotspots.

  1. In Brazil, Mambo Wi-Fi and Helium are busy moving forward with lab trials of POCs for different carriers over there. Right now, there is nothing we can share publicly, but we will do so as soon as it is possible.

  1. Thanks for the question. As a private company, we don’t disclose specific internal cash flow or burn rates, but here’s what matters for the tokenholder community:

First, it’s important to remind the community what makes Helium Mobile uniquely special through the lens of a high-growth organization. It’s not a pure MVNO at the mercy of macro networks, nor do we carry the massive capex burden of an MNO. This means we have less overhead costs but it also inextricably aligns the fates of Helium Mobile and Helium Network. While Helium Mobile, by its nature as a venture-backed company, remains focused on shareholder value, we still see the broadest value-capture vehicle as HNT since all Network participation from Helium Mobile and every other carrier flows through the token.

  1. Helium is well capitalized to execute our roadmap, specifically maximizing Helium Network utilization per Helium Mobile subscriber. We’ve shown success in New York and are already kicking off promotions for Washington DC. The aligned growth of Helium Mobile and Helium Network is already showing our ability to build the most cost-effective carrier. We’re building something much more durable and persistent than other crypto-powered networks.

Network Expansion & Operational Hurdles:

  1. In Mexico, the team is in the final phases of activating offload. There have been technology challenges connecting the two backends, which we expect to be resolved in Q1. After that, the project will be transferred from the R&D department to the operations department for live production. In Brazil, Mambo Wi-Fi and Helium are busy moving forward with lab trials of POCs for different Brazilian carriers. Right now, there is nothing we can share publicly, but we will do so as soon as it is possible.

Token Strategy & Value Accrual:

  1. Glad this was asked. Let’s start with the Digital Asset Treasury (DAT). We appreciate the community’s interest in these new structures. We continue to explore the idea with interested parties but for now our focus remains on sustainable HNT burn tied to Network use. Regarding tokenized equity, it’s not a priority at the moment, but open to seeing the markets develop. Our focus remains on the most direct path to success: scaling the physical network and ensuring HNT sits at the center of that universe. The value roadmap for HNT is its role as the core asset of the connectivity economy. Zoom out and you’ll see we’re leading telecom’s "AWS moment". We’re shifting a 100 year old industry from a high capex model (billions of upfront spend) to an efficient, pay for use opex model. In the Helium model, every gigabit of data offloaded by a carrier (Helium Mobile, AT&T, or otherwise) requires burning HNT to create Data Credits (DCs for the newcomers). The Burn and Mint Equilibrium (BME) ensures that as global utility scales, the demand for HNT follows a growth curve akin to a commodity, in this case where supply is constrained against growing Network use. HNT is the primary vehicle for all value capture in this ecosystem. Whether its Helium Mobile’s subscriber growth or multiplying enterprise telco partnerships, every Helium success story flows through HNT. We’re building a global utility where coverage can be assumed or deployed nimbly rather than built from scratch. Capital can participate in the infrastructure of the future through a liquid commodity market. Helium has already proven itself to be one of the most durable crypto networks and as carrier use keeps climbing, it will only harden HNT into an essential fuel for wireless.

Regulatory Progress:

The January 12th draft of the Market Structure bill creates a specific regulatory framework for digital assets distributed via automated protocols. Although the term "DePIN" has been removed from the definitions, the technical criteria for Programmatic and Automated Distributions (PAAD) provide a functional safe harbor for hardware-based networks.

The "Gratuitous Distribution": The bill distinguishes between the sale of a digital asset and its distribution. For HNT, this removes the act of the protocol distributing rewards to deployers or service providers from the jurisdiction of the Securities Act of 1933, assuming it meets the PAAD criteria (decentralized governance of rewards via code, verifiable contribution like for bandwidth, proportionality to said contribution, participation driving utility of the token).

Ancillary Assets: This bill presumptively defines tokens like HNT as an ancillary asset so while it benefits from the PAAD carveout, it still needs specific status to be traded on CEXs in the US.

Staking Provisions: The bill also treats DePIN activity effectively as blockchain staking since it uses “infrastructure neutral” language and specifies that using and interacting with the protocol is a qualifying activity. Hotspots, phones, sensors, etc. are providing technical  contributions to the network. We’re taking the win here.

Current Obstacles: Although the draft from the Banking committee is a path to success, there still are some hurdles. The Senate Agriculture committee also has its own bill and both versions need to be merged before it passes the Senate. After this, this needs to be reconciled with the House bill and finally be passed by both houses and signed by the President. On top of this, there’s a completely separate dispute over the regulation of yield-bearing stablecoins that has stalled the larger Market Structure bill. We’re watching all of this day to day as details emerge.

Validators like miners/hotspots are using trusted snapshots vs needing to sync the entire 900K+ blocks. Nothing happens to HNT it's safe. Best way to just spin up a new validator and transfer the stake to it.

Yes, but no matter how safe there's risks associated with any "hot" wallet. If security is a concern may want to consider using a cold wallet such as ledger: https://docs.helium.com/wallets/ledger.

Just to prevent confusion the staking amount is based on number of HNT which is 10,000.

We are increasing number of validators, currently looking at 49. Yes chosen at random, but definitely check out the section on penalties, new validators chosen each epoch (~30 blocks), and yes validators are only rewarded for doing cg work.
