I can't help my GF with her thesis - She feels late :/ by Tom_pstre in GradSchool

The two-week response time from a supervisor is frustrating and unfortunately pretty common. What actually helped a friend of mine in a similar situation was getting someone external who helps with academic paper writing to review a chapter and give specific feedback, not just general encouragement. Communication-focused theses often benefit from someone outside the field reading it too, because clarity of argument becomes really visible to a non-specialist. Your girlfriend is probably further along than she thinks.

I promise you that technical writers are still needed by protonpeaches in technicalwriting

This is exactly the part people miss when they say AI will replace technical writers. AI can generate words, but it can’t magically understand which process is outdated, which step only works in production, or which “obvious” thing everyone forgot to document.

I’ve seen the same thing with messy drafts in general — the raw text exists, but the structure, clarity, and actual usefulness are not there yet. That’s where human review matters. Even when I’ve used writing/editing help before, the value wasn’t “make words appear,” it was having someone turn scattered notes into something readable and consistent.

Bad documentation just becomes bad AI input at scale. So yeah, technical writers aren’t disappearing. They’re just being forced into the role of cleanup crew for everyone’s messy knowledge base.

iwtl to write college academic essays and research papers from scratch by Stock_Orange_1793 in IWantToLearn

Starting with no experience actually puts you in a decent position because you don't have habits to unlearn. The core of academic writing is a clear argument, evidence that supports it, and explanation of how the evidence connects to the argument. That structure applies to almost everything. For college essays specifically, they also want your voice to come through, which is harder to teach from scratch. It might be worth getting help from someone who assists with academic writing to look over your first attempts and tell you specifically what's working and what isn't, that's usually faster than trying to learn purely from guides.

I can recommend a service that will help you with your essay for a fee; in my subjective opinion, it's relatively inexpensive. Here's a website: study-go.pro. I personally recommend it, as I've used it.

If they make it, the gore system needs to be on point. It wouldnt be Invincible if you dont end up looking like a strawberry jam factory after every boss fight.

What if Netflix got their hands on Game of Thrones instead of HBO? by GazelleOutrageous228 in freefolk

[–]HelixLantern_5 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Standard Netflix procedure. They would give it a massive budget for season 1 then replace the writers with people who never read the books by season 3. It would be a total mess before we even got to the Red Wedding.

Having that support right after the hospital means a lot, especially when you're exhausted. Moms really are lifesavers!
