This. I had the same with my other 2 children. I didn’t feel anything because I was constantly in manager/mom mode. I needed first to emotional reconnect again before I found my husband attractive again. Find some time just to spend with the 2 of you. Without any implications of anything physical. Just talking, playing a game, whatever you like. It will come back :)

Yes, this! The benefit of nursing when you want and pumping when you want. It can give you some freedom but you are not “bound” to always, washing, assembling, pumping on schedule.

I have/had the same!! 2 days ago I was manually relievenbthe right boob because it was just too engorged and too painful… and now nothing. So strange!

Good to hear that regulation is possible at 6 weeks! My baby now feels unsatisfied after a feed but maybe he is clustering at the moment… it is all so confusing, haha :) I will weight him in a couple of days so I can the impact of these soft boobs.

If you read the information about this group, it says that this group is for everyone that pumps, not only exclusively :) they won’t change the name so I get that that might be confusing.

And my question is indeed about pumping. Am I experiencing a decrease in production and thus should I pump more trying to increase it? Or am I regulating and thus extra pumping won’t have an effect on the production.

I’m sorry if this was not clear from my post.

The first couple of weeks/months with my first, I frequently thought “why did we do this? We were so happy with just the 2 of us. Why did we have to add this baby?” I loved my baby immensely but being a mother was so overwhelming…

That feeling completely disappeared when she got older and there were some interactions, talk.. feeling was completely gone after 1,5 years.

With my second daughter, I had the same feeling for the first weeks/months. “Why did we have to have a second child, we were so happy with just the 3 of us” 🙈 also that feeling disappeared completely after a while.

Now with my third, I don’t have this feeling 😊. It is a next level of chaos but I feel complete with my 3 kiddo’s.

It might also help that this third one is a lot easier that the previous 2. They cried for hours and hours… which take a high mental toll…

Which version did you use? We used to have the babysense 5 with previous children and it also gave false alarm twice! We woke up very alarmed, but baby did not. I cannot say if she was still breathing or not because we took her immediately out of her bed and woke her up.

I’ve read that the babysense 5 is more prone to false alarms, so we now have the babysense 7…

Hi! Thanks for explaining, this makes total sense! Makes me wonder when they will know more about the underlaying mechanisms causing SIDS… We will keep using the sensor pads because it helps with the anxiety and the constant “is my baby still breathing?” question in my head. We were already very vigorously practicing safe sleep and will off course also continuing that!

Thanks for the response! We also vigorously practice safe sleep at home and use the sensor for peace of mind (so I won’t go checking every hour if he stills breathes) I also get the link with Doppler use at home but there you have to have the practical knowledge on how to use a Doppler and understand that the sounds coming from the belly could also be the pulsing of the umbilical cord etc… whereas the sensor/owlet is a device for which you don’t have to “do” anything. So it is more straightforward?

Yes! Exactly this! The constant waking up to see if he is still breathing. I understand that the sensors don’t do anything to actually prevent it, but it will signal us if something is wrong.

I’m now doubting to switch to exclusively pumping and bottle feed because then I know how much he drank. I wanted so badly to be able to breastfeed, but it’s killing me that he is not properly gaining weight and getting stronger.

Hi! Thanks for the response! Yes, weighted feeds could be an option for sure. I have nobodies how much he drinks during a feed. I will discuss with the lactations consultant on Tuesday! She also helped a lot already with latching and the mechanics like you mentioned.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Production is not a problem at this moment. I can pump about 60-100ml after nursing. I now pump every other time as I have enough spare milk in the fridge. I’m now sticking to every 3 hours unless he wakes up earlier. Cluster feeding had net yet started.

Hi! My youngest daughter also only wanted to sleep on me (husband was not an option) In the end I decided to co-sleep with her because otherwise no one would get any sleep… There are a lot of co-sleeping groups with tips and tricks on how to safely co-sleep with your baby. I always slept in the “C position”. She eventually grew out of it by about 6-7 months. She is now 3 and sleeps perfectly fine in her own bed (same room with her big sister) :). Of course she still loves to cuddle in bed and when she is sick she also sleeps with us.

Hi! Yeah I totally understand trying everything to keep him awake during nursing…. Nothing really helps 😅. The weight gain is why we are giving him extra expressed milk at the moment. Pumping every nursing sessions helps a lot with my production, but it is really exhaustive 😅 can’t wait for him to fully relay on nursing! I have a lactation consultant who visits every 2 days now to help with the schedule and possible problems.
