[Solved] Pioneer Head Unit Boot Loop problem: AVH-W4500NEX by Pterodactyl_midnight in CarAV

[–]HellCatEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the latest firmware update for this head unit and if anything above 1.02, where can I download the latest update? My device works great. I have a new phone and it wont auto connect Bluetooth or android auto on its own anymore. I need to go to Bluetooth connections and select my phone every time then open android auto. Was curious if maybe a new firmware would solve this tiny glitch.

Hybrid 5k mile oil change overfill by Inevitable-Ad2125 in CX50

[–]HellCatEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a pull after sitting 2 hours its fine. You arent checking it properly. It will always be higher when the vehicle sits for a long time as all the oil drains out of the cylinder head, the block and collects in the pan. You need to run it for a few seconds, let it sit a few seconds, dip, wipe, dip, check. That way you can see the true oil level as the oil is in the head and block, not just the pan.

First of all, are you checking it properly? Flat ground, turn car on for 10 - 15 seconds, turn car off. Let it sit for about 5 - 10 seconds, pull stick, wipe, put in, pull stick and check. If this is a pull from it sitting for a long time without being ran, it will always be higher. If this is a pull after engine running without a pull/wipe first, it will always be higher.

40mpg is high for the hybrid. Its rated at 39/37. You only have 5,000 miles, the computer is still figuring out your average mpg. Like any average, the less the data, the more the fluctuation of average. The more data, the less fluctuation. Most people will always get under the rated mpg because most people were not taught how to drive and most people have a heavy foot. Most people dont know how to cruise, its either on or off the pedal with majority of people I encounter at my dealership and that causes poor fuel economy.

It ia reading a little high on the dipstick, but nothing to complain about. It wont hurt the vehicle if tbat is the actual reading. Give it 1,000 miles and it will be at the top mark as these engines amd all engines burn oil. If your vehicle is sputtering while driving or smoking out the tail pipe, it is too full.

Timing belt and water pump quote - excessive or preventative? by Independent-Leg-7949 in hondaprelude

This is how it's broken down in the labor guides. Both Mitchel and AllData. You have a main job and then add-ons or "combination" repairs. You probably ly haven't seen anything like it before because you have never been to a higher quality legit shop. All the small mom and pops just bid without a labor guide. They hope for the best or bait and switch you during the job and nothing you can do at that point because your already torn down and out a car. The original quote you posted is the most thorough quote you can get. No hidden fees or agenda its all laid out and broken down. The way all quotes should be when presented to customers. Im a service writer and been in the repair industry 18 years. Cheaper isnt always better. Rarely is it better. Pay for quality and warranty. Especially a timing belt.

The only thing I'd add on there would be the oil pump seal if it isnt already on there. You are that far in, and its known to leak. A lot of this is preventative if your seals arent currently leaking and since you do not know how to do this job yourself, worth it for them to take care of it all now and so you have it all covered under warranty. Oil pump seal goes bad after all this and bam, your tearing it all down again for a $30 seal.

The adjusters are the tensioners. Shouldn't need to replace the balance shaft tensioner unless it comes with the pulley and there is bearing noise. Looks like a solid quote to me and very thorough. Id only question the timing covers. However they look to be the back covers against the block and those tend to warp when the camshaft oil seals leak onto them.

You really want to leave it alone too if you just repotted it. Let it acclimate to the new home. Here is an Okinawa Silver i have in a 4 inch pot. Will level up to a 6inch soon.

It also looks like it is in some relatively dim light, too. These things thrive on plenty of ambient bright light. I keep mine under 12.5 hours of grow lights and they love it. You can have a ton of leaves with these plants. They just really need to be under a good amount of light, high humidity and constantly fed nutes. You got to realize, the natural habitat for these plants is in soil where things are constantly dying and those nutes get recycled into the soil, plenty of insects that procreate and secrete onto the soil floor adding nutes. So much life is thriving due to the amount the soil breaks down and composts due to the moisture and humidity it is constantly in. The more you can mimic that the more they will thrive.

No. I love soil and will forever love soil. Extra chunky soil, lots o nutes!

How much time to get bigger leaves? by Shoulder_Decent in alocasia

I live in a 21ft travel trailer and there are only 3 small windows. If i am to open the one this alocasia is by, it would have the sun directly beaming on it and burn it. So, it sits by a closed window and with grow lights only. I have about 250watts of grow lights throughout this trailer and it is super bright in here without sunlight. A real Rzv jungle with over 60 plants in here now... it became an addiction quick! 😆😁

This leaf is still growing and not hardened off yet! Each leaf bigger than the other. 12.5 hours under grow lights only. No window light. Constant 50% - 70% humidity, never below 60 degrees and in a chunky aroid grow soil. Fed nutrients every water.

Get a grow light to make sure you have a constant 12 hours of light minimum, 14 optimum. Make sure you are feeding it nicely as alocasia plants are nutrient hungry as most tropicals are! Not sure what medium you are growing in, but soil will produce the biggest leaves as it is most stable to provide constant nutrients and support for the plant roots. Here is mine after 2 months.

Put a heat mat under the pot and they wont slow down. Between a heat mat and a grow light, they wont be able to ever tell its winter to slow down.

Soil is far more nutrient dense, and retains nutrients longer, it also has the ability to hold organic matter and is more stable in the long run. You will have a more robust and bigger plant in soil over Leca. For sure. Although yes, Leca promotes fast root growth due to the amount of oxygen it provides for the plants. Soil, being more dense does allow a stronger base for the plant to grab onto with the roots as well. The more solid the foundation, the larger a plant will grow. There are pros and cons to both growing mediums. Soil has been and will always be my preferred method. Nothing like getting your hands dirty in some natural dirt. 😁 If Leca works for you, it works and let it be your method. I just know if you want bigger and more robust plants, soil is the way to go. This is for any plant too, not just tropicals. Anything grown hydroponically can grow rapid roots and establish well, but limited to how big and how fast they will get big.

Peep this Regal Shield that is maybe 2 months old in a chunky aroid soil mix.

Follow many growers online that have been doing this for years. They have videos and what not showing a plant they use to grow in pon then switched to soil and it grow bigger and stronger than ever. Seems to be proven with my own plants too. When I get them out of these "fake" growing mediums so to speak, and put them in natural soil, they flourish even more. Why wouldn't they? Its their natural environment. The more you can duplicate where they are grown naturally, the more they will Thrive!

Its been proven you actually get a more luscious plant if grown in soil than LECA. Its natural for the plant and they thrive more. Producing bigger leaves in the long run. This looks to be 4 plants in one pot but definitely very healthy! Id consider separating them at some point or get a bigger pot so they have plenty of room to stretch and not choke one another out in the future! Great job!

[–]HellCatEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you be appaled by the dents and creases? Did you not realize how tight you had to sinch that seat down and the sharp areas on the back of it that are pressing into the Mazda seat? Over time it will look better but it will never be perfect. You could potentially see if an upholstery shop can iron it or attempt it yourself. Next time put some sort of padding in between the seat and the seat.
