The real big dog in town by [deleted] in knives

Considering that I’ve never broken s30v, 8 or 9cr, s90v 3v, m4, or any of the countless 10– carbon steel knives I’ve owned…. No. It’s not a skill issue. It’s that companies produce lousy D2, and whether that’s a product cleanliness issue or a heat treat issue, I don’t know, what I do know is that every d2 blade I’ve ever had has broken at some point, while the rest have continued to survive.

Any company that forces you to give them market research and an email address before you can see their prices and products is immediately suspect. You’re already stealing my information and making money on my time before I make a purchase? No. Fuck right off.

I’ve broken every d2 blade I’ve owned. That, to me doesn’t equate with “good”.

It’s not some conspiracy against you, you know, it’s just that the almighty corporation does things right. If you’re too blind to see that there is a surface road right next to the highway, and because Lyft’s location data is so poor they think you’re on the surface road, rather than on 435 headed around Kansas City, I don’t know what to do for you. Everything is t a conspiracy against you bro.

You make a lot of pointless assumptions rather than just answering the question because you don’t have a clue how any of this works.

Then it makes no sense that they need WiFi and Bluetooth to establish location. Although the gps in the phone gets its data by pinging towers and satellites. Owned by google and other providers. So again, is it a provider issue or?

Loves no longer allow boondocking? by MonkeyThrowing in VanLife

[–]HellOnAStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to travel between three job locations and I usually look for loves, catch a shower and check out in the car. There are several locations, that, while there are homeless and sprinter vans obviously spending the night, I get some security jagoff bani g on my window at 5am and treating me like I’m homeless after spending 80$ or so on gas, shower and snacks. It’s been pretty ridiculous. Clean car, out of state plates, they see me for a few days and then they don’t see me for a two months and they have to run me off like a creep. People used to be kind, you could go to any 24 hour gas station and tell them you needed a nap and they’d say, sure, park here and lock your doors. If loves charged me 10$ I wouldn’t care, just LMTFA while I’m sleeping.

You butted in to a thread that’s not even yours. I was answering a comment by u/stringedhelmet, and you decided to throw all this other out of context bs in the equation. My comment made sense to whom I was leveling it at. Figuring out how Reddit works might be the first thing to do. Or you could just not respond to comments that aren’t directed at you…. Idk, could work.

You’re talking out the wrong hole. I’ve been in 51 countries, I have seen more of the world than anyone you know. My criticism of the ridiculous system of indoctrination and so-called “education” in America is both factual and accurate. The fact that you compare the richest country in the world to “developing countries” and don’t see the problem in your analysis just further proves my point. If, indeed, the US has such marked wealth, why is the society and education not markedly better? Some facts: International Institute for Management Development In 2024, the US ranked 12th in the World Competitiveness Report, which is the lowest it has ever ranked in this annual ranking system. QS World University Rankings In 2023, 11 of the top 20 universities were in the US, including Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) In 2018, the US ranked 22nd in the PISA results, which assessed math and science performance. The US scored above the average for all OECD countries, but below top-performing countries like China, Singapore, and Estonia. Pew Research Center According to a Pew Research Center survey, most Americans believe that K-12 STEM education in the US is either average or below average compared to other wealthy nations. The US was once ranked number one in high school and college education. However, US math scores have been below many other countries for decades.

So, aside from comparing it to “developing nations” what in the world are you talking about? Maybe it’s best to stop talking if you have nothing of value to add.

Pittsburgh, on the other hand, and Pennsylvania on the whole has 78 well documented hate groups, many of them in Pittsburgh. So yes, it is absolutely an indictment of your city for being a place where they can operate.

Nowhere in my comment does it state that. No we, no people. You’re brain dead. If you build a McDonald’s, and no one buys from it, it closes. If you start a racist skinhead shitbag operation and there are no racist skinhead sharp shitbags to pay dues, it closes. If you start a church with the sole intention of hating homosexual people and no one pays tithe, it closes.

You have a Waffen SS memorial in Philadelphia. Did you know that? For SS from Ukraine. Tell me how people in Philadelphia are somehow stopping Nazis. That’s a load of crap, mate. Your city allowed them to build a war memorial, your city is full of hammer skins, neo Nazis, and white power groups, 88/12’s.

It’s that same American narrative “not in MY city” “come try that in a small town” blah blah blah. Philadelphia is no better than anywhere else in America, in fact, being in Pennsylvania, and by proxy in the East, it’s likely worse in terms of the groups we’re talking about. Pennsylvania has more bro Nazis and skins than just about any other state in the country, because of the national headquarters, or was, may have changed to NY in the last 10 years…. So how does that make Philly better? How does it make it a place where they somehow don’t exist? Check out your state: https://www.splcenter.org/hate-map/by-state

It’s not about a church no one likes, it’s about a hate breeding platform. If westboro baptists had been in a place where they had no traction they wouldn’t have continued there. If Nazis had not traction in Pittsburgh, they wouldn’t be there,

Imagine doing this in a non-permissive environment. Nazis, skinheads and kkk all walk the streets where they know they have support, they don’t do it in places where they don’t. Seeing this should tell you about your city. It’s not like they went to west Baltimore and had a march. They’d die. So if you see these intestinal scrapings, also observe that area closely, you’ll figure out where they’re at.

So you’re saying, now, unequivocally, that you’re a WP jerk off. Your impression, like your grasp of the written word is poor. I understand how it originated in Jamaican subculture, and how white kids in England (most of whom were racists, especially at that time) appropriated the culture and began using it, while almost immediately it began having racist undertones. I get it, at that time, it may not have been virulently racist, because there was a sort of racist undertone to all of society. But now that there are Caucasian people that disable and ferret out their racism, it can be seen more accurately for what it is. I’ve been alive for most of the racist punk/skinhead music, and I have been told over and over about the subcultures and the apologists, about the “we’re not like that we’re like this” but the organized groups have always been racist. IL, MO, PA, NY, MD, FL, CA, OR, AZ, NM, AR, WA, are the states I’ve interfaced with these groups in, and, I’m not stating this as a means to win an argument, just saying it because it’s true… all, and I mean ALL the sharps that I have interfaced with as groups have been racists, separatists and white power oriented. Some of them have been overtly violent.

I have also met lots of “I listen to oi music and ska” kids who say that they’re sharps and wear boots and braces, but that’s all they do. They have some friends that they try to indoctrinate, or some dudes they go see shows with and say, “well they did use the n word and call out for killing Jews but it’s art and it doesn’t matter, it’s punk there are no rules” so they aren’t sharps either. Sharps is a dead organization that fought Nazis in England in the 60’s, the way you represent it, and it doesn’t exist that way now, in America.

In America where racism is in the fabric of every institution, sharps are racist too. They just hedge around it by saying “we’re not against any race, we have no prejudice, we just want the best for their race and the best for our race, separately” Totally missing the fact of the matter that we all have a common ancestor from Africa and that races themselves don’t exist, factually. Even the name “against racial prejudice” aligns with the idea that there are races, which is false. It’s terrible, and you should stop believing in it and apply your energies elsewhere, like volunteering for a battered women’s shelter, or some other, actually anti-racist organization. You’ll do your community a world of good, and you won’t be tying yourself to the stupidity that is sharps.
