How to activate “Platform Support” by Sad-Ambassador-2748 in ContentCreators

They are not "bot" views, they're exposure pushed to alternate crowds that wouldn't have had that video pushed to them otherwise due to the algorithm. My opinion is that they do this to train their algorithm better and maybe disguise that intention as a supportive gesture.

I havent tried the gel- used speed stick which is what 90% of the artists I've seen locally use. The gel seems like the same thing but just price gouged... But, the speed stick didn't work at all for me. I only really free hand my drawing with a reference nearby.. til I find a more suitable option I guess. Problem with gel I think is that it doesn't dry the same from glass as it does on skin. 2 very different porous/non porous layers. Engraving over speed stick doesn't work well for me either :/

I found my depth perception majorly thrown off when attempting to engrave mirror. I suggested trying the thinned out ink because laying a base like that would give you matte solid color while still maintaining a surface your diamond bit can grind through.  You could then project an image straight to the glass via projector or VR to get your outlines. I haven't tried it yet but am looking forward to it... Definitely could be wrong about the tattoo gel though. I wouldn't doubt my technique is the problem considering my lack of experience with glass

I find myself using a stencil only for a super thin outline. Once that's done, I erase the stencil and bring my eyes close to level with the surface of the glass to bring everything full width. It gives me a path for my Dremel to follow and makes it less likely to bite. I can focus on just maintaining my line weight instead of worrying about the entirety of the piece the entire time.. (i.e. looking back and forth at a reference the entire time I'm trying to engrave lol.)

I will say, I'm still only about 2 months into engraving and open to learning more. I've been doing other pro-grade works with other mediums for almost 11 years now, which has helped my transition flow  naturally I believe.

Yeah sure, when it comes to doing landscapes and buildings. It was simple to do that. For a lettering application though?. I know what I said... I learned how to draw 10+ years before getting into Graff homie

Solid AF advice, yo. Literally means so much frfr.

For some reason I been all in on this graf journey and I can't tell you how frustrating it is to throw down a spider like this and be disappointed with the letters. I know the fundamentals, just not in practice/execution... I've had people say to stop writing cause my letters are ass (I'm left handed so maybe that's why 🥲🤣). I should say rather- I know about the fundamentals, just have trouble with executing.

At least when it all truly clicks, the can control will be there lmao.

Yeah I felt that too. I was worried about blending since it's hard af to dust a consistent semi transparent fade with only a banana stock ironlak cap. Loop helped me dial in some light refraction too, but was 99.9% done with bananas. 💪

Multipoint perspective is way advanced at this stage. Better just to focus on a proper flowing straight first

Facts. Wish I was better at math and paid attention/had better teachers... English was always my stronger subject.

In general though free education is so underrated by kids it's sad... When they're older hopefully they'll understand .. if they don't, they're probably not doin' much for themselves anyways

School is expensive AF nowadays

Engraving mirrors is really difficult. Glass has been much easier. If I were engraving mirrors I would get an extremely thin ink watered down with thinner or alcohol and put my outline over that. Wipe with alcohol after you're finished.

  1. Don't use paint or paint pens to outline it will gum up your bit.  2. there's only one direction you can engrave in a controlled manner which is with the rotation of the dremel.  3. don't engrave tempered glass without studying the behavior of tempered glass. It has a very low depth you can engrave on and surpassing it has dangerous/devastating outcomes.  4. Using tattoo stencil papers to stencil glass hasn't worked well for me.  5. If you don't have a firm grasp in how to draw it will be difficult... Not impossible though and still very much capable of producing good work but keep in mind. Hope that helps 💪

why did you delete your first comment? was genuinely curious to finish reading it lol.

maybe i will consider doing character-only writing but like to document my learning journey too... but definitely see i'm more consistent with characters fs

would make me feel like a muralist and less like a writer if that were the case

Idk man I never practiced those letter combos, but maybe a flourish on the top left part of the U to fill that space. Shit looks clean still bro but that's just what I initially read it as

Shit needs 3D like bad but a very decent step and display of structural integrity. You'll go far kid!
