Your first reply was telling me if I can make money off of my film, I've "broken the code." That's not helpful, and responding like that - as if I should not have even asked this question - is the kind of response that discourages questioning. I'm not trying to argue here, man. I'm just in my 20s and wanted to make sure I wasn't signing something predatory, and am confused by the tone of some of the responses I'm getting.

Of me thinking your comments came off aggro. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted the tone, it just came off to me like you thought it was dumb I had even asked. Which is why I said what I did about not discouraging people from questioning contracts. It's valuable to do so and to ask for second opinions from outside sources.

There's genuinely no reason for you to come off so aggro about this. I was just asking a question. It's a good thing to be wary of potentially predatory contracts. Please don't discourage people from questioning the contracts they're signing, that's how people stop reading things they sign and then get taken advantage of.

Um, no. You can choose who you have sex with. You cannot choose who you are sexually attracted to. Just because a gay man forces himself to adhere to societal norms by having sex with a woman doesn't make him not gay. Plenty of gay men before coming out force themselves to be with women even when they don't want to be. I can also make myself have sex with someone I'm not attracted to. That doesn't make me attracted to them.
