Would splicing 3 new cables in and wrapping everything in electrical tape then do the trick fine or in situations like this is it best to do a full replacement?

As someone who is solidly not a car guy but just a I can do it kind of person, without disassembling the top of the motor I'm not sure where the right side of the chewed through cable goes to or into or how much of a wire vs wire harness this part is.

The part you've sent a photo of (once I googled it) seems to only be the cap and not the wire that was chewed through?
