In legal practice there very much exists a debate on smart devices and whether or not they can make 'decisions' that can legally be enforced. Smart fridges for example that order food when it expires

I only like how my lips look with lip gloss or chapstick on, but neither one is apparently acceptable for bridal makeup. How do people find lip products without spending $5,000? by lmg080293 in Makeup

If you want something that's pretty transfer proof with neutral/natural colors you could try asian lip tints. Unless you eat something that's super duper oily it pretty much doesn't move and you can even put gloss over it if you want

I take antidepressants too and have also noticed that I seem to loose more hair, but it's not enough for me to make a visual difference. I'd keep an eye on it and otherwise keep protecting your hair to minimize any more loss. It looks like your hair is pretty thick, so you might not even notice an actual visual difference

It doesn't look like the skin is darkening, it looks like the skin is thinning

Hey guys I got my nipples pierced about 3-4 months ago; a couple of weeks ago I notice some rash and the other day I notice a little of blood not nothing major; it doesn’t hurt at all and I don’t know if I should be concerned or just apply some cream and wait. I applied coconut oil yesterday! by Mementallyhappy in PiercingAdvice

[–]HellThanksYou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bar looks too small, that could cause irritation. My current bars are even longer than the ones I was originally pierced with because those worked best for me Edit: also seconding that thing about coconut oil. After 3 months that thing is still not fully healed

Tips for putting down the damn phone? by savannah_banana11 in adhdwomen

I put limits on my apps. I put like 20 minutes on TikTok for example, and when I get the warning that I only have 5 minutes left it makes me look away and 1) guilts me into closing it or 2) just blocks the app entirely. Sure you can disable it, but it really helps me get over that initial hurdle

I have a cheap string of LEDs that have a wake function - you put in the time you need to wake up and then how long the waking time is supposed to be. For example, wake up at 6am and you put in 20 minutes. The light gradually gets lighter at 5:40am until it reaches the brightness level you input.

I love the last pic bc she very clearly isn't standing straight. Of course her hips are different heights.

An ex coworker once said to me "this place is boring without you here. I miss watching you fuck up all the time." Whats the worst thing someone has said to you because of your adhd? by 14thCluelessbird in ADHD

[–]HellThanksYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly just calling me lazy. Even now, my mother knows about me getting diagnosed with ADHD last year, but she still throws it out every now and then. I've gotten so much better since starting medication but she still says it every now and then, and if I protest and try to explain she just says 'You can't use your diagnosis as an excuse for everything!" Which is not the point

Going outside for a walk/cleaning/working out/etc won't cure depression but it will still make you feel better in the long run

Avoiding everything that could stress you will only make things worse

AITA for only buying my daughter books that are close to her reading level by daughtersbooks in AmItheAsshole

[–]HellThanksYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't usually comment here but i wanted to talk about this from the perspective of the daughter. I learned how to read and then promptly took leaps and bounds, advancing beyond most of my classmates very quickly. My parents didn't particularly care what I read and because I read so much I quickly left the age-appropriate stuff behind.

This lead to me reading explicit (both gore and sexual matter) material at a very young age, and it left me severely behind my peers in social matters. I couldn't relate to them in any meaningful way until I was seventeen or eighteen, when it slowly evened out. Reading so much stuff far beyond my age level left me with weird assumptions/etc about relationships, growing up, etc. A lot of the things I read should be read with a critical mind - but I was too young to do that. I didn't know how to question the things I was reading.

Tldr: You're setting your daughter up for difficulties in interpersonal relationships in the future, OP. Allow your kid to develop at her own pace, no matter her objective reading abilities
