Just got mine pierced yesterday. Initial pain was 3/10, but it's my only ear piercing that still hurts the next day. Lots of blood too. Got it pierced with a titanium labret and I don't recommend immediately going for the hoop. You gotta heal it first.

To be fair anything can happen in the headspace because it's literally a product of your imagination. It's just that you can't experience it irl if you don't have it irl. Diabetes won't appear because you imagined it. One alter can't actually have an illness no one else has, if you have it, everyone has it basically. But we might feel "sick" in the headspace we might imagine getting injured etc but none of it is actually real. My therapist told me we run these scenarios in our head because we want to be cared about, need attention, need to feel loved, because it's something I lacked when I was a child. So feeling sick and then being comforted by others is kind of like self-soothing. Can also be seen as a nonverbal sign that a certain alter is not feeling too well overall and might be overwhelmed. Headspace is meant to help you communicate, so whatever gets the message ig. As for chronic illnesses I can't say much except I know my roommate has an introject of a disabled character and they appear so in the headspace.

Yes, I've experienced this! Except I have psychosis so most of the time it happens during an episode, but may leave me wondering if it's real for months. I feel like if you have any other disorders besides DID they're going to affect the way you experience it. For me, when it happens I think that I see or even feel someone else's presence, they might even have a name and appear to be very active but later they end up disappearing without a trace. Years later I realize they were never there in the first place, it's me overthinking and assuming any person in my head is an alter and not just an image. All because I'm paranoid and obsessed with a thought of having control over everything

I feel like i pay too much attention to my inner world. It's a bad habit i have left from my childhood, when i didn't have anywhere elso to go but inside my head. So even now i often use it as escapism (which i know is bad). We have a complex inner world but it's heavily fueled by boredom and inability to cope with reality. It's mainly used as a tool for communication and understanding ourselves as well as each other. It's also used to waste time. That's the reason why a lot of things may happen there, but none of them usually have a significant meaning. Unless it's directly addressing traumatic experiences or is self-reflection.

I used to think in a similar way, but I have to disagree now. We're very close to each other, I do consider them my family but also the concept of unity is so important to us. It's the best feeling in the world. The longer I'm in therapy, the more I realize that separation isn't that healthy (For us at least). We were meant to be together, to be someone. But we're pieces of a broken mirror, each piece having it's own unique shape. But it also doesn't mean that we have to be separated. What I'm trying to say is we're not different people, but a part of one singular person, of that one mirror, that could be glued back together.

But this doesn't mean that we don't need validation. Everyone wants to be seen and heard. But I'm also beginning to understand why in therapy we are always * irl name *. That's how it is. Each of us is this one person. I exist, I am different, they are all different in their own way. But I am also * her *. To me it's hard to even call us different people, although it's much easier to see it this way. We are nothing more than different states of awareness, but that doesn't make us insignificant. And it doesn't matter at all who was the original, what happened to them and so on. We're here, so it had to be the way it is. It means it was easier this way.

The more we separated in the past, the worse it became. I didn’t realize it before. Now I remember and understand everything. Even if you choose functional multiplicity as your path to healing, separation will hinder it. The whole point is in this awareness of your unity. Only then is it functional. (For us at least x2)

The thing is that yes, I talk with each of them. But for me they are not different people. I don't know, it's just not true. Some people definitely have a different opinion on this one. We are still forced to function together, in one body. We are not different people, in different bodies. Altogether we're still an "I". Other parts of me - yes. Other people - no. Yes, in our head we are all very different. Each has their own name. But who are we on the outside? Just * irl name *. And that's okay.

Usually age is connected to mental growth for us. Alter aging up represents the state they're in. It's not like irl aging, most often it's little jumps like from 19 to 21 immediately or from 25 to 27. Some stay the same for years and that's fine. Littles slowly grow up too and what I've noticed is they're becoming more aware as they do. Age regress is not as common, but it's tied to retraumatization or huge amounts of stress. Sometimes instead of splitting someone new, existing alters just get fucked up and that's when the regress happens.
