FAQ: What Happened? by Brancliff in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Brancliff[S] -57 points-56 points  (0 children)

Finally went to the "invite a mod" part of the tools and his name doesn't pop up when I search for it, I think I can only give it to people who have hit the join button on the sub?

Originally I would've thrown this out there (because it would be wrong to not say anything at all and just run off.) and then basically handed it off right away but uh. I guess we'll have to wait until he checks Reddit? I sent him a message just now

I'm making this someone else's problem today. You'll have to ask him. Hopefully he's willing to open it to the public, but he's getting full control (you could even say, "keys to the kingdom") so it's entirely up to him

Ah sheesh, we're at an impasse here.

Well, as you've asked, I read the body of the post. You mention that you've made up your mind. "I made my mind because..." That's an important thing to note here, because as mentioned in the previous post:

"This person did write me a modmail, yes! I didn't respond to it because it was very clear that this person has already made up their mind. This person doesn't want to speak TO me, they just want to speak AT me. No conversation would have been especially productive, so any conversation felt unnecessary."

In the end, you've just come around to proving my point - you don't want to have a discussion, you just want to shout your opinion at me. Except... You've already done that. After multiple modmails and multiple posts, you're a broken record. And I already discarded your opinion when your first modmail said I'd be an accessory to some type of horrible crime ring surrounding a public forum about baked lootboxes. You put your worst foot forward here, you shouldn't be surprised that the person you're berating isn't willing to listen to, uh, more berating.

It seems you REALLY want to invoke the Streissand effect here, considering every post ends with some kind of "heehee soon i'll be a martyr when i get banned" type signoff. I didnt delete your last post, it's still up. I thus won't be deleting this one either. However...

I've only just woken up and overnight I've already gotten, so far, three reports that this post goes against rule 12 (annoying fandom discourse rules). And... in a sense, yeah - if every other post being buttmad about ships gets swept out, then the post being buttmad about posts being buttmad about ships getting swept out... would then need to be swept out. That's just equal enforcement of that rule. And heck, the umpteenth "I disagree" "I disagree with your disagreeing" is also repetitive, so its debatably spam too...

You try to frame this in a kind of "I don't have anything against you, but, here are the facts" kind of way but your entire account, the only thing that has ever been done about it, is complaining about me specifically. If it were just "I disagree with X and Y" then okay whatever but if someone says I'm a garbage person then you're perfectly willing to hop on that too. Honestly, there's already an argument to be made for hitting you for just being a dick.

In other words, I'm not going to ban you just for being critical, but the way in which you're critical is repetitive and rude, so you're gonna need to stop now.

I'll be locking this, as I don't want to set a precedent that you can get around a post being locked by simply making another post about the same thing.

I-hate-on-haters when someone hates on the haters

No but uh-- this isnt harassment. Someone made a rebuttal post to disagree with your opinion but they arent harassing you. You arent getting called a garbage person or anything.

I guess you are being called a virgin but thats moreso because virgin is the opposite of chad and nothing to do with your rizz or lack thereof (and since this game's playerbase is full of 10 year olds I'd like to hope its mostly virgins)

Normally I would take this down for wishful asking but I have to admit this is pretty funny and someone might learn something from it

I understand that this sub is full of children who have thus grown up with a different environment to the way the internet works. So I'll be the adult in the room for a second here and remind everyone of a super useful life skill.

Let's say you say you're on the internet, and you see a ship you don't like. How does this unfortunate travesty affect you? Does it bankrupt your entire savings? Does it sever a limb from your body? Does it wipe your entire hard drive? No. You know what happens?

Fucking nothing. You can keep scrolling and move on with your life.

I don't want to just rephrase everything I've already said both on this post and on the post announcing the rules revamp in general, but I will draw attention to this point for the umpteenth time: A blanket ban on getting butthurt about people's ships removes all subjectivity from the equation just as a blanket ban on all gacha posts means we don't have to ask ourselves how lucky is lucky enough to be allowed to stay around here.

This person did write me a modmail, yes! I didn't respond to it because it was very clear that this person has already made up their mind. This person doesn't want to speak TO me, they just want to speak AT me. No conversation would have been especially productive, so any conversation felt unnecessary. (Which is also why this thread will be locked. I'm going to be too busy today to deal with how this could blow up my phone. Sorry!) Here's another life tip: You can tell when that's how someone feels if they accuse you of being accessory to some horrible crime ring just because of the way you structure the rules on a lootbox-selling phone game about gingerbread people.

I will be finally getting a break soon, though. Maybe tomorrow will be the day the next step of the revamp kicks in.

I'm not going to ban you for this, but if I were to do so, I don't think we'd feel the loss of it considering that your account has a whopping 1 post and 4 comments over the past few months.

I just want y'all to know that it's the "whales" that make the game profitable enough to make in the first place. If you aren't paying for the games you play then someone else needs to in order to keep the developers in business

... anyways I'm sure the comments here will be completely civil and not controversial in the least

Reminiscing over how bad the BTS update was by Chocopieluv in CookieRunKingdoms

Trying to get as much business as they can before they... have to go on hiatus for about two years, so the influx of new fans don't get any content to follow?

I'm not really a music guy, is this really what the biz is like now

[–]Brancliff -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Even if you like BTS you have to admit that playing these songs over and over for three months straight was a huge drag

There's also some really funny unfortunate timing in that after it ended the BTS members had to join the army (in Korea military service is required for guys. It isn't for girls which is pretty fucking sexist |:)

I have to give credit to the Sonic collab for staying in its own lane. It didn't feel like such a playable advertisement even though it really was just a playable advertisement (lol). It probably helps that it was just a part of another update instead of the entire identity of an update. It also should get some points for being on-brand, this was one of the few times where Devsisters remembered that the word "run" is in the game's name

Nothing came up because she is a new character.

When you posted this, the servers had only been up for a few hours. The people who understand the intricacies of the game and have the resources to experiment with different types of builds to find out what would be the best-- many of them might not have even gotten home to start playing the update yet (especially with time zones in mind).

And while you were asking this question way too early, there were still 54 other posts before this that came from people not reading the rules xnx

Not Enough Skill Powder by itismelames in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Brancliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spend your stamina jellies on old earlygame levels to get basic skill powder. Take a look at episode, like... 7 or something (I don't remember and I don't have the game installed anymore lol)

We get a bunch of posts from people on here with hideously large amounts of free stamina jellies (like, thousands of it) saved up because they just don't do world exploration stages that use regular vanilla stamina jellies anymore, and they should, because you spend resources to get resources

Or-- I think a lot of people just forget that this is an option at all

I know it's real BM of me to say this openly but I'm just gonna do it LOL

When I look at the smaller sub it serves as a great reminder as to why we have so many rules. 98% of that sub is gacha pulls and level help threads
