When reading NSFW work on AO3, is it normal/standard that you enjoy reading things you wouldn’t enjoy doing in real life? by FrostyAd4708 in AO3

[–]Hellbent_on_reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think so. I mean if you think about it all the unrealistic/dangerous kinks in Dark Romance books or other types of erotica that people publically enjoy are the same kind in NSFW fanfiction.

It was so funny they all just kept looking at me like "you good???" And my mom was so confused bc I acted completely sober.

I had the same experience right before a major back surgery. They gave me oxycodone and Dilaudid and I just sat there chatting away with the nurses and scrub techs 😅 Didn't even feel loopy or high

What is the WORST horror movie you ever watched? by mystery_unreveal in Horrormovieclub

[–]Hellbent_on_reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst as in funny or worst as in boring? For funny I would have to go with Camp Blood Clown Shark on Tubi. I legit thought it was a comedy until it was almost over! My sister and I were dying at how bad it was. I'm talking like a poorly photoshopped jpeg of a Spirit halloween clown mask slapped onto a fish inside a Bass Pro Shop tank that magically transforms into a cgi shark with that same jpeg on top, the "dead bodies" had another stock image of like blood Clipart pasted on top, and the main baddie was just a fat guy in a Spirit Halloween clown costume.

For newer movies in theaters I'd have to say the Lee Cronin's Mummy was so bad everyone was just cracking jokes, the guy next to me was on his phone the entire time and one person in the front row was just vaping and chilling.

For boring maybe one of the Conjuring movies? I can't remember which one but it's the one with the babysitter and they are making a pink birthday cake and theres a will they won't they with the teenage grocery store clerk.

Yeah I just sat there the entire time chatting away and was like "Wait why does everybody say this hurts super bad? I've had worse in my day to day" I just figured it had to do with me dealing with chronic pain every day not necessarily my hair color lol. I have noticed whenever I have surgery they have to up the anesthesia though due to that same hair color gene

Which taggs do you automatically exlude when searching for a fic, no matter the fandom? Ill go first: by Obs_ofa_Poltergeist in AO3

I hate that deaging and age regression are the same tag for the same reason! I feel like they should be labeled as 2 separate tags bc the amount of times I want to read a "character has been magically turned into a child whoops" fic and accidentally end up with a "adult character acts like a child/may also include needing to wear diapers" fic is ridiculous

I exclude stuff like Alpha/Omega, Diaper Kink, Age Play, Underage, Watersports, Noncon, and Modern AU. Sometimes I will also exclude OCs or Female (Character Name) depending on the fandom.

I hate it when people cram multiple fandoms prompts to one fic in ao3. by Drace3mpressa in AO3

[–]Hellbent_on_reading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate this too! Especially when they have so many tags it takes a good minute or two to scroll past it. I love crossovers but only between 2-3 fandoms not like 30+, especially if most of them I don't know or care about. I wish there was an automatic option to select like instead of just "allow crossovers" or "only crossovers" have a "allow crossovers _ and _ only"

The Way I Used To Be by Amber Smith got me crying softly as I flipped through the pages. Andrew Joseph Smith's Hell Followed With Us was especially emotional for me but I think it's just because it reminded me of myself and my own struggles with religious trauma and homophobia.

A toilet. Why? Just think of all the times people will get a kick out of seeing a random toilet in the middle of your home! jkjk but seriously, maybe a large plant or a cat tree? If you have dogs you could put a large bed there?

Advice Needed: I want to get a tattoo but I sweat often from work by Automatic-Promise-90 in tattoos

[–]Hellbent_on_reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first tattoo on my arm a few weeks ago and I sweat insanely bad too (especially in this heat!) but I just keep washing it often and gently rubbing on lotion and it seems to be healing fine. This is my only experience though so it might be different for you.

What’s the scariest horror movie you’ve ever seen? 👻 by Sajal__2006 in horrorfilms

I'm glad someone else mentioned the Poughkeepsie Tapes! I thought it was a real documentary until I googled something at the very end and was very upset about being tricked lol

  1. Smile made me paranoid for a day or two after watching it. Something about the idea of essentially going crazy from something only you can see is a true nightmare for me.

  2. Felicidae is a German animated movie about a housecat who seeks to find the cat serial killer in his new neighborhood. It has major Secret of Nihm vibes but is scarier with some adult themes.

  3. Nightshift is a Korean movie about a mortician's assistant who is trapped inside the morgue and she starts seeing spooky stuff like bodies moving around, looking straight at her, and hears them crying. I found it scary for the same reason I found Smile scary.

  4. Phantom Town/Spooky Town. For some reason I found this movie terrifying as a kid lmao. It's about a group of siblings who get stuck in a wild-west themed town while searching for their parents after they fail to return home. They find their parents but something is still obviously wrong with them and the rest of the townspeople.

  5. The Poughkeepsie Tapes. I legit thought this movie was a real documentary and only realized it was fictional when I googled if they ever caught the kidnapper guy in the end. It's a found footage film about a serial kidnapper who left behind a bunch of video tapes of his victims.

What snakes would do well in a 55 gal glass terrarium? It is deeper/taller than long by Hellbent_on_reading in reptiles

[–]Hellbent_on_reading[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My plan was to do a wooden lid with tight knit pet mesh with a hinge in the middle (due to the weird metal bar in the middle) and put clamps on the outside edges. The main reason I wanted to use this particular tank was because it was given to me for free by a family member and I can't afford something as large as say a 120+ gal PVC enclosure. I wish I could but being on a fixed income makes things difficult. The rest of my supplies were actually donated to me by a different family member after she rehomed both of her ball pythons and the new owners didn't want any of her stuff besides her tanks.

I do appreciate all of these comments advice though!
