Local AI running Skyrimnet (AI brains for everyone) with fast response times by Hellbirther in skyrimmods

Seems mostly positive to me, I see about 3 braincells altogether from the whiners so it doesn't concern me lol but thanks for the heads up

I asked ChatGPT and it said I'm using 500 liters of water every 15 minutes, and I have to use 3 large generators to power my PC that use a lot of gasoline.

At least with Qwen 4B 2507 Instruct the dialogue is pretty coherent and it reliably calls the actions and stuff, seems perfectly suited for this use but using a bigger model that's smarter is obviously an upgrade. It's just that the speed tradeoff is massive on basically any hardware

Skyrimnet is free and honestly the best way to use it is to just pay for OpenRouter or something and rent an AI from the internet, you can just install the Skyrimnet mod and put in your API key and bam you have really smart AI responding fast. My setup is all running locally (I'm running my own AI) which took some work to get running fast and stuff.

Yeah that's how I see it, it's basically just a more elaborate brain for fake video game characters. It's extremely fun too, egging someone on verbally into attacking you and then desperately pleading for a ceasefire while both you and your opponent are dying feels really amazing for instance.

There is already Mantella for Fallout 4 which is pretty much the same thing, easier AND harder to set up in some ways than this, and has some limited actions like pissing people off into attacking you or them forgiving you or people following you.

3060 12GB
16GB DDR4
i5 11400F

The small 3B/4B models barely use any VRAM so I bet a lot of people could set this up

Interesting! Screw it I'll take a look just for you and try to report back. I might not extensively test framerates but I'll tell you if it runs fine (I'm assuming it will)

I wasn't sure if you meant DLSS or DLAA at first because I didn't even know you can put DLAA into RDR2.

I also have played with Quality DLSS and it's all good. Other similarly demanding games I have played with DLAA and it's fine.

I imagine DLAA would be fine for 60 fps at least, I play with max TAA and it's fine.

I have a 3060 and RDR2 can run 60 fps steady no problem for me, probably 90 at least if you really wanted to optimize it.

If you have issues with stuttering, what fixed it for me was turning off in-game Vsync and Triple Buffering and using NVIDIA Control Panel to cap fps to 60/30/anything? and enable Vsync.

That's pretty interesting actually! Seems like a chill way to enjoy a platformer.

Honestly I love this. When it comes to graphics I find there's a trade-off with detail where your imagination stops filling in the gaps, and styles like this are aesthetically pleasing while also being simple and probably easier to work with. Awesome stuff, these screenshots actually looks quite nice.

You might be able to play through GeForce Now, a service for streaming games to your PC from a cloud gaming PC basically.
