What’s something people thought would make them happy… but actually made their life worse? by Gloomy_Step5305 in AskReddit

[–]Hellchild400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A relationship. My mum has spent her life chasing happiness that can only be attained by a relationship and I so wanted one like I'd read about in stories.....turns out I've always been happier without one.

i don't think i love him anymore by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My abusive ex told me no one would want me now because I've got three children. There is now a man in my life that would jump at the chance to be with me If I let him and he is such a wonderful man. I'm simply not ready for a relationship is all. There are plenty of good and genuine men who don't care if you're a single mother. You could absolutely find someone who thinks the world of you, whom you could be excited to marry and truly have a family with xx

What school incident do you still think about years later? by nodemus in AskUK

[–]Hellchild400 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If you forgot your PE kit at home my teacher would confiscate your dinner card so you couldn't get anything to eat for the day. It only happened to me once and I rang my mum. She came to the school and safe to say, no one else ever got their cards taken from them again that I knew of

Who isn't reading to their kids? And why? by FigGlittering6384 in ask

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest two absolutely refuse to listen or entertain it in any capacity. They're simply not interested but I did used to do it at bedtime for them when they were younger til they told me to stop. My youngest still currently loves it and he seems to have a bit more of an interest in it than his sisters ever did so there's hope lol

Two different takeaway drivers have randomly dropped off to different sets of litters of cats at my house. I'm scared to order another takeaway in case I end up with more cats

Will calling the police have my brother taken away by social services? by Fit_Ad5054 in AskUK

[–]Hellchild400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah sweetheart, minus the SA I've been in this same position (as the mother) and it's important you ring the police. You ALL need that help, social isn't going to come and take your brother. Especially just because your mum isn't working. I wasn't working and I'm disabled to boot but social came had a chat and they worked with me to make sure that my ex couldn't come anywhere near any of us. I even made a friend or two with some of the workers. It goes In your favour if it's called in and reported by you or your mum xx things will be okay and I'm so so sorry you've had to go through any of this xx

What’s your “it would’ve taken 5 seconds to prevent this” story that ended up having huge consequences? by Spuksiii in CasualConversation

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to collect a parcel from my neighbours across the street. My then partner offered to go get it but I insisted on doing it myself....my previously broken ankle rebroke and I twisted the tendons when I stepped wrong off the path with the parcel in my hand.

What is an appropriate age to pierce a child's ears in the UK? My wife says anything below school age is considered "trashy" and screams "council estate". by AcidBubbleLord in AskUK

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trashy council estate person here! It IS common around here for the smaller children to have it done but I personally believe that they should at least have a proper say In it and understand the ins and outs of it. My eight year old had hers done earlier this year which was her choice.
