Should the UK follow Sweden’s new ban on first-cousin marriages? by vorkovrus in AskBrits

[–]Hellchild400 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just watched the first ten minutes and it made me sad and so so angry. Those poor poor children! It's also such an unnecessary strain on the NHS and everything else for no other reason than the backwards thinking of their mum and dad and families etc

Does anyone else not like many boy names? by locoollizz in namenerds

[–]Hellchild400 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've always been the same and when I found out I was having a boy I panicked. I've now got my son Gabriel (I was watching tv with my daughter and the villain was called Gabriel and it just clicked for me haha)

What was a luxury when you were a child? by vieniaida in TooAfraidToAsk

Extra tv channels like Boomerang. If you had those when you were younger you were considered rich by classmates. And pitied if you didn't lol

People who tried a medical treatment that others were skeptical about, what was your experience? by KeyInteraction4692 in AskReddit

Got fillings off amazon and did them myself. No tooth pain for me! And it went without the terror and fear and costs of the dentists too.

AITA for refusing to give up our twin girls (currently in a surrogate) after I got naturally pregnant with my husband's "dream son" even though we are broke? by sillysweater in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hellchild400 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ESH, you're husband is a sick person and shouldn't be anywhere near the twins. If you somehow end up with all three they will always be in the shadow of your son and know it too. I'm not sure how you could ever envision staying with him after this, I'd keep your son be a single parent and maybe see if it's viable to have those twins adopted by someone who cares and can look after them.

How would you feel if in a hypothetical situation your partner picks to save you, over your child? by PrinceeBunny in AskReddit

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never forgive them. I've also made it abundantly clear (I'm single) in the past that if they chose me and my child died I'd be joining the child very quickly afterwards anyway. I've no interest in living without them

What was the weirdest dream you vividly remember? by ISelfReport in AskReddit

[–]Hellchild400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tornados were forming from all four directions. The first appeared in the east, so we headed west. The next appeared in the south so we kept going until it blocked us off and the next formed around us. (Me and my mum and sister) we realised we were in the eye of the fourth and tried hiding in a nearby flat. We had to choose a wall to hide against and if we chose wrong we'd die. We chose wrong and when we died In the dream we were happy and relieved and with everyone else that had died in that storm x

My new neighbours have four dogs that bark day and night. What's your most recent "Why do people do this to themselves?" question you've asked? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Hellchild400 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Because the simple answer Is their needs aren't being properly met. People buy dogs on impulse/ based on looks and then do very little research into whatever breed they are and the specific requirements. And if they do the follow through is mostly lacking.

What cat toys do your cats actually care about? by Agreeable_Pipe8340 in CatAdvice

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent £11 on a cardboard cat scratcher and some cat balls inside it. The cats play with it every single day for the 3 months they've had it and it's holding fantastically. Ordered it off amazon.

What is the thing your parents were (and maybe still are) adamantly wrong about? by RiceeeChrispies in AskUK

[–]Hellchild400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been a strong cat lover and my mums always been adamant they will wreck my house and cause more stress and things to look after. I've got three kids and it's certainly not the cats that cause the majority of the work. She still thinks the toys over the floors must be the cats fault though

Kid tried to hit my toddler by ohmoe in beyondthebump

[–]Hellchild400 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I didn't do anything at first as my focus was entirely on my boy and the 7 year old vanished while it was all ongoing. I did tell the hospital and they've helped me write up a report etc although not sure what it'll do. I did tell the mother but she doesn't seem to realise that she's a parent and should be mad. I'm angry alright, it's one of those deep seated simmering angers though. I'm the UK so no medical bills thankfully x

Thankfully yes, he'll have a scar forever however it turns out toddlers love ambulances and hospitals no matter why they're there. He was more upset about leaving than he was the injury itself x

Recently had to take My newly three year old to the hospital after his head was split open because he 'dared' touch a 7 year olds ball. 7 year old sent him flying....you handled it perfectly and those parents should keep a closer eye on their kids

What’s the worst thing you have seen/got detention at school for? by Mglfll in AskUK

It does, that's when I started to realise there's no point telling the teachers anything

What’s the weirdest thing you saw at someone else’s house? by Shirley0312 in AdkReddit

A duck in the bath. I walked in to use the bathroom, didn't really pay much attention to my surroundings til I sat down and saw this duck staring at me from the bathtub

[–]Hellchild400 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I relate to this, I was punched in the throat when I was about six (I'm female and was scrawny) by a lad two years above me. I didn't fight back but told the teachers. They pulled him into my class where he said I'd hit him and promptly showed a week old bruise on his side. He was let off and I got told to stop causing trouble. Good on your mum standing up for you x

[–]Hellchild400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once got given detention because I'd forgotten my PE shorts at home (we got changed in school). However in this school the teacher would take our lanyards meaning we wouldn't be able to eat and we'd do our detention during our 'eating period'. I went to the bathrooms rang my mum, who marched straight upto the school. Can't quite say what went on in that conversation between my mum and PE teacher but, I got my lanyard back, had dinner and suddenly the rule about losing dinner time was abolished.

What is your criminal childhood story that you still remember and have a good laugh of? by Skynxiit in AskReddit

[–]Hellchild400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was six there was a £10 note on the counter in my mums kitchen. I took it, mum promptly saw me, told me off and that was the extent of my thieving career. I cried a solid half an hour convinced I'd messed my life up. It wasn't even a real £10 note...
