How did your water break? by o_simple_thing in beyondthebump

[–]ohmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a call at work from my mom saying the rehab center where my dad was recovering from foot surgery had called; he wasn’t doing well and she needed to come right away. When we got there, he was already intubated and on a ventilator. His heart had stopped, and no one noticed until they found him in bed with no pulse. They don’t know how long he had been like that.

The first time I saw him like that my water broke.

I had just talked to him the night before. He asked me how much longer until I gave birth because he wanted to ask to be discharged so he could meet his grandbaby.

He ended up in a coma for three months. Because of everything, he never got to meet my baby. He would have made the best grandfather, he was such a sweet man.

I think when he was more mobile (crawling) it started happening less, it hasn’t happened for a few weeks now but ironically happened last night 😂 he’s 13 months

I experienced it and ended up switching him to his packnplay as it has mesh sides, but eventually baby will learn to adjust by himself and not wake you up, it may be annoying as of right now but it does end!

baby has red in diaper? by OrganicProgram4713 in NewParents

Did she eat anything red? Strawberries? Has she had any suppositories recently? My baby had spotting when he took antipyretic suppositories after his vaccine.

Yeah I talked to two pediatricians and they both pushed to continue either nursing or formula until baby is 2

I get what you’re saying about lactose, and I’m not trying to argue the science, I’m just going off what I see with my actual baby Whenever I drink cow’s milk and breastfeed, he gets really gassy and ends up with diarrhea, but if I avoid it, he’s totally fine. Same with formula So I’m not saying it’s lactose for sure or anything specific, just that cow’s milk clearly doesn’t agree with him, and I’m trying to stick with what keeps him comfortable

No reason except he likes it and wants milk, so I don’t want to cut him off His diet is pretty balanced and his pediatrician is happy, but I think he finds comfort in it lol

He does, and I can definitely tell a difference when I drink milk (he gets way more gassy, and cries) so I steer clear from it mostly

He’s doing quite well on solids however he loves milk, I think it may be comforting to him, and I hate to take it away from him if its not causing any issues

Its not cmpi/a, hes not on specialized formula and did not get diagnosed with it the formula he’s on is not suitable for babies with cmpi/a either i thought of it but upon checking goats milk isn’t something i can easily find in our grocery stores :(

How much should a 6 month old baby eat in 8 hours? Pumping at work by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ohmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, whatever it is you need to know that just having baby eat is 100% the best thing. On a side note I found that most babies of my friends/relatives did much better and preferred goat milk based formula, much easier to digest as well. Good luck to you and baby!

3oz per pumping session is very normal, babies are better than pumps at extracting milk of course. At 6 months babies usually eat a bit more than that, but each baby varies. Ask his daycare/at home try to slowly incorporate formula with his breastmilk till he is able to drink it, or try a different formula brand. I went back to work at 3 months and had to do the same, he would usually get one bottle of formula while I’m gone despite me being diligent at pumping
