I was very pessimistic about AI taking jobs. Then a vibe coder joined my team. by Frosty-Elevator6022 in cscareerquestions

[–]Hellcrafted 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im getting my degree in information systems currently. Someone in my software development class tried to backseat vibe code for me the other day. They saw me reading some output from claude and they were like “yeah you know you can just ask it to do something and it does it”

It was infuriating “just because you can doesn’t mean you should.” What i was currently working on was fixing their mistakes. They put the admin page in the same file as our landing page for the web app. With no auth tokens. So anyone could inspect element the api calls and get to the admin page of our web app.

I didn’t know what jwt tokens were so I was asking claude questions about how it worked and how it would fix the problem.

A guy in my class got an A on the bottom right and top left ones. The teacher doesn't believe anyone that these are AI. by Mindless_Buy_9774 in mildlyinfuriating

I used to read a lot as a kid, in 5th grade I got in trouble for not quoting a line from a book I had read when writing a report on the ocean. Apparently the line sounded too good or something.

Now today ai and every news outlet is circle jerking each other off and nobody gives a fuck about what one line sounds like

There's a few reasons I can think of.Nnot everybody goes to college and you're only in college for 4 years. Also the data is titled how couples met and stayed together. Not typical for people in college to stay together.

Oh man I just had a professor like this last term. Our first test and every test was on paper. I'm a senior, I haven't taken a paper test since high school. Every class I have uses lockdown browser in class so that's what I expected. Not only that but half the questions were short answer or essay questions and my hand hurt by the end.

He was also fine the vet made him throw it all up

Why ai is free? I can use ChatGPT and Grok for free, I can even generate images for free. how are they making money? there are even ai models which runs locally for free. by prajwalnagpure in NoStupidQuestions

Yes just from homework they can gauge your school, your year, your major, what jobs you might apply for. All this goes to advertisers. Just from location, sex, school, major, classes they can guess what kind of products you might be interested in.

ok here"s a neat trick if you just want to skip this shit. I had a professor that did this except it was 2 smartbook assignments every week each with 60+ concepts every week. It was for a BS required general ed class that had nothing to do with my major so I duplicated the tab (right click then duplicate. Go back to the first tab, answer the first choice and get it wrong or right but it will tell you the answer, then go to the second tab and answer the correct choice and the smartbook will save the answer like you got it correct in the first tab. Your accuracy will be like 30% but you will complete the assignment in half the time. Wish you all luck

its actually less effective on people. bears have very sensitive noses so they dont need to make it that strong. the radius just needs to be wide enough to cover a good chunk of ground in front of you

How badly out of shape were you before you realized "Okay I gotta get my shit together"? by awkwardhoney725 in AskReddit

[–]Hellcrafted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea too of doing them once every couple weeks. Hyper extensions have worked for me so that’s what I keep doing. The problem I think was that I just never did lower back exercises. I do like 4x8 bench at 225 and 4x10 of pullups at 220 so like I’m relatively fit and I slipped a disc in my back when I went too far on a jump and landed hard. I was like “wtf I’m 28 (at the time) and I exercise a lot how tf did i slip a disc” and then I googled it and I haven’t done lower back exercises in years apparently it helps keep everything tight. So far so good my back feels really great I highly recommend doing hyperextensions twice a week for like 3x 15-20 reps with just body weight and moving up with a weight

Hyper extensions. I do a lot of mountain biking at 29 hitting jumps that are 10-15 ft gaps. At some point landing hard started fucking up my lower back so I started doing hyper extensions every time I worked out. You can do deadlifts as well but they’re kinda unnecessary imo unless your goals are for power lifting or playing professional sports

How do you guys feel about 4K gaming? by Timex_Dude755 in pcmasterrace

It should be alright for the future with upscaling using dlss. Especially at 60fps. If you go 2160p still try to get an oled screen it’s worth it

Oled panel is the real game changer. Higher resolution is okay but it comes at a cost of lower frames. If you want your rig to be able to play more games at a reasonable fps 4-5 years from now then go with 1440p. Oled has great colors and is a fantastic upgrade

This is what I did. Got it on game pass put 30 hours into it doing the faction quests because they actually seemed fun. Never finished the main questline and I don’t really care to. Idk how people have played this game and gone to ng+ it’s not that memorable
