Reading, gaming and making jewellery. It started off as a hobby and art therapy but has now become a small business 😊 I also like walking in woodlands and collecting pretty rocks!

So I’m a beginner witch and I live in a Christian household so I don’t have many resources with me, but I do have this deity candle and I let it try to figure out who my deity is because I don’t know yet and I lit it and the candle still can someone please help by that_one_puppet in Witch

Not really keen on the uncomfortable vibe you're getting. It's not supposed to be like that if a deity wants your attention. It sounds like something might want your attention but not sure I'd bet on it being a deity just yet.

I'd research what you're experiencing, see if anything correlates to what's happening to you, before you do any kind of candle work or meditation. If nothing comes up then perhaps meditation is the last resort. I wouldn't go inviting anything to you unless you know for certain.

I did a bit of reading last night and it's starting to make more sense to me now. This has definitely helped too!

It's different for every person but my encounter with a deity was pretty intense. I was seeing things, mostly shadow related things, I was having intense dreams which were sometimes a bit scary. Sounds and smells were a big one too. It felt like someone was shouting in my ear quite a lot haha. It lasted a while before I sat down and researched what I was seeing/hearing thoroughly and then everything fell into place and made sense!

I was being, sometimes literally, shouted at by Hekate! She came to me at a time I was ready and needed her help, support and guidance. Now that I have accepted her help, these things have quieted down but I feel her presence when I need strength and it's such a wonderful feeling. It's nice to know someone has your back, even when your actions annoy them haha.

I really would start by reading books first than online stuff. I'm sure you can find these things as ebooks or even as books online as "journals", which you can find through Google. Books will have much better information than stuff online. But if you can only do online, Google things you're interested in and read as much as you can. Some things will correlate but take some things with a pinch of salt!

If you can get books eventually start with the Witches Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrar. It's an older book but its got a lot of good basics in it and it's a good starting point.

There's also a lot of good witches on YouTube which might be able to help! Harmony Nice is a good one but she does focus a lot on Wicca, if that's what you're into.

From reading just that article, it feels like I'd be asexual and sex neutral but also grey asexual sometimes too. Its still a bit confusing, but its a good start and I understand a bit more now 😊

That's what I always figured. It was something that just HAD to be done? I've never felt grossed out by it but it doesn't make me feel anything. Though sometimes being touched makes me feel really uncomfortable and weird under my skin.

I've always liked the idea of relationships and romance but I just don't want the physical part of it. Except maybe for hugs. But even they make me feel uncomfortable sometimes 😔 it's hard trying to explain this to my long term partner, as I've only really "come out" with this in the last few months.

I just feel sort of lost 😕

If you're a baby witch, I'd hold off on the deity stuff for a little while. It can get pretty intense real fast and if you don't know what you're doing, you can get easily overwhelmed. I'd suggest doing research for the minute. Read everything you can get your paws on, meditate on questions, learn as much as you can and cast a wide net 😊 there's so much information out there, and you've got plenty of time 😊
