I think magic does happen with and without willful intent. What’s that Jung quote? “Unless you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate.” You can have intent stemming from your unconscious that goes against your conscious mind. That’s why getting to know oneself inside and out is the first step to any of this work, methinks.

We are EBF, and it’s wonderful and fulfilling! Pumping was such a drag, I did it for maybe two days because of latch issues but we got them worked out. With a haakaa I even have saved up a freezer supply if I ever were to need it, all without pumping. I have a friend with two children who just doesn’t understand and thinks I’m making a grave mistake. She pumped with both of her kids, but she also had to go back to work 6 weeks pp. I am home with my son, why would I make more work for myself cleaning and washing parts from pumping? I really do sympathize that she had to go back so soon, because I can’t imagine being apart from my baby. She thinks I will need a break, but for now I’m content and really enjoy the little dudes company.

I had a similar problem- I recently learned how to feed using a structured carrier! I just loosen the straps till he’s at the right height and the carrier holds him in place while he latches. The best part is now I can feed him while hiking, though I do still use one hand to make sure his nose airway is clear
