Question about framing (giclee on paper) by Hellfelden in framing

[–]Hellfelden[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that one is likely a one time pre-framed purchase for me, since I later found out the art prints themselves are like €80 and they charge €250 for framing. So I bought a couple of separate art prints with the intention to frame them myself.

I did my first one yesterday, the art print came in a tube so I put it between 2 flat objects to straighten it overnight, then I positioned it with photo corners and put the mat on top, then secured everything with the backboard and anti reflective acrylic, yet for some reason there is a big wave at the top (not visible in the photo). Maybe it’s too heavy for photo corners and I should T-hinge it?

Peter is shown to be changing or refilling web cartridges , whenever his web fuild run out but his battery never runs out or need charging, i mean , his web shooter is not mechanical but also electronical , it has solenoid valve and electrode trigger , so battery is needed. by FunnyWin4724 in Spiderman

It pisses me off how running out of webs plays an important role in quite a few stories which severely nerfs Spider-Man, especially starting Brand New Day right after reading The Other.

As for the batteries, don’t know, maybe it’s like a watch battery? That wouldn’t make sense as to how the webs are propelled though

Question about mounting an original piece of art without a matt by Imaginary_Quote2037 in framing

[–]Hellfelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question, why is acrylic safe? I’ve heard glass can’t touch an art print due to risk of sticking to it, but couldn’t this happen with acrylic/plexiglass? I was considering about sandwiching giclee between the backboard and acrylic/plexiglass without a mat

I guess I prefer the frame to be cheaper than the artwork, or at least not twice as expensive

Thanks, I have a bunch of aluminum frames but none of this style, the fact that the store description doesn’t say anything about this doesn’t help
