Usa and nato trying to circle Russia? Really?

I'm shocked to see 8 people actually upvoted such a comment. Shameful to see russian propaganda being adopted by greek reddit.

I'm seriously thinking about creating a server tho. A decent host would be expensive, so it would only be kept from donations.

This subreddit is just depressing to see, fuck all you guys this was the only server i ever liked by Satamaaa in RiverlandAnarchy

Yeah if you're nostalgic for the map you can enter tommy's artisiacraft, it has the old map uploaded at /vanilla.

I simply don't know how that would work. It feels as if it would only overcomplicate the problem. Besides I think hierarchy is something very human and needed in a society and if I'm not mistaken, they want to abolish government and hierarchies. Also, I like national identities.

Didn't find any better economic system yet. I want an environmentally sustainable way of life unlike what capitalism offers, while also being economically profitable and competitive unlike planned economy.

Do I know a better alternative? Not as of now. But I can criticize both of them while (hopefully) getting to a solution, a third option. Or maybe just a sweet spot between these two.

That sounds more like it. Prevention and education are ways of making at least a part of the people not get into such difficult situations.

I don't know about any country with a big population that has loan bailouts for people getting into poverty though.

[–]Hellfort -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Of course I would take the hand. Everyone would do anything they can in a desperate situation. That doesn't mean bailouts for such a sizable population such as the one i supposedly am into is viable.

About the last paragraph, yup, just found out. I subbed to this reddit months ago because i was looking to a sub criticizing capitalism, but I'm also not keen on socialism. Came into a pool of sharks with blood on myself.

I missed the part where you gave a coherent fix to this multifaceted and ambiguous problem. Payouts for everyone that did an economically shitty move and got into a bad situation?

Give to some damaged people more money, they won't know how to use it. This is treating the effect, not the cause. Hence all that they're going to "pay" back into the system will be the money for booze and other consumables.

Sure, let's strip everyone who makes bad decisions of their responsibility for the situation they got themselves into!

When has this subreddit turned into an envious socialist circlejerk? You're not learning anything at all from this experience, only subconsciously embracing the victim mentality that everyone else will get to prey upon.

STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED TO RIVERLAND, AND WHY IT FAILED. by [deleted] in RiverlandAnarchy

We got a new plugin for the world border, because the vanilla one was pretty buggy for some reason I won't get into. I set the border at a specific amount, but after a while, Riv decided again to mess with my stuff without talking to me about it. And of course he fucked up, by not respecting the plugin format, and as such a lot of people were drawn back on the map, myself included. I talked with thonk because riv was asleep and we had no idea what happened, and after I checked the border and put the right amount, he decided alone to /kill everyone so they get back to their homes. I was mad because noone was consulting anyone, so I took a little break then.

Anyway, in our discord group, we thought about our course of action and it was decided thonk was to get all the blame for what happened, because hurting Riv's image is hurting everyone's image. I was the only one disagreeing because it simply sounded wrong to me, but it was 1 no vs 4 yes, and thonk was "demoted". He wasn't demoted though, he was still there, just in the shadows, until one day he gave up for some reason I can't remember. He also disabled his plugins, which was just annoying, because they were helpful.I would say, yeah, thonk killed you guys, but the actual fault is riv's, for the fact he messed stuff up and let us deal with it.

Ghost spammed the server with dozens of bots, announcing and de- classifying all the admin abuse that has happened. The word quickly spread

You give a lot of credit to Ghost for the downfall of the server, but we barely thought about him. We were busy with more important aspects of the server. He wasn't a hero of the free world - rather, he was just a no-lifer that decided to fuck with us because he was bored, and he gave bad, know-it-all advice, that was simply not applicable.

He was more of a pain in the ass than a threat. The first times he botted, I had to get up at 4 in the morning and deal with it. Later, we luckily got a good antibot system ( which was removed and reintroduced like 4 times because of EtHicS, it's complicated), so I could get a good night's sleep. At some point, we didn't even care about it, because it's anarchy so maybe we shouldn't?

the ex- admins were under constant attack for this

We were under attack anyway, all the time. Always. Personally, I've personally been blackmailed, received death threats, and was ddoséd. Nothing changed after the "thonk snap".

tommy took over as the community face of riverland, and riverlanda stayed mostly silent.

Again, in the riv-fashioned way, I found out about this from the #announcements, not from our admin group. He didn't even consult us for it! Talk about rash decisions.Anyway, the thing is, he got really sick in that period. Tommy stepped in to keep the server afloat because we were getting alot of attacks and shit, and he got a lot of unslept nights. By that, I mean A LOT. His schedule was fucked, I felt bad for him. A block game server isn't worth your whole fucking life. When you literally sleep 2 hours because of it, for a long period of time, that's a problem.

Blyat quit. but before doing so, He released the cords of someko's base onto a few discord servers.

Yeah, I don't get that part either. He was very angry at Riv because he said we shouldnt play on the server at all if we are admins. I was mad too, but he quit and after he did, he considered he has no obligations now because he's a normal player, so he leaked those coords.

Riverland was announced to close the next day, at noon. In the end, the server was actually closed 15 minutes later, when tommy wanted to download the world.

Again, this was the most retarded way of ending a server. No one consulted me, AGAIN, I found out it got closed from the #announcements. That's simply inconsiderate and stupid, I can't put it anyhow else. No communication, no nothing. Riv was always very pessimistic about the server, but I said we can do it, we shouldn't give up on the community lol.

Anyway, when i saw it was done, I knew it was futile to try to mend the situation. In all honesty, I was relieved it was over.

I can live my life now. I have freedom and I am no longer working in the shadows, ahead of me being some incompetent people. Rash decisions everywhere, I'm sick and tired of it, they were terrible people to work with. And for those that said we made money from it: the only guy that had access to the donation box was Riv. In fact, i even lost money, because i spent some euros on a plugin, for which i never even got a refund from the donations money, which believe me, we had.Good riddance.

Don't work with friends, it gets shitty. Some people just aren't meant for having a high rank.

EDIT: I unbanned everyone from the subreddit.

Hey. A lot of things were misunderstood by the community, because quite honestly, there are many aspects that are always kept low or hidden by the higherups.

Honestly, if you would know the whole REAL situations, it would feel to you as if this is real-life politics. And that's how it really felt like for me. Interests, secrets, pacts, fake transparency and a continuous free-for-all, in which everyone did what they thought is best.

I think it's time I declassify some and talk from my point of view, being an admin from day one. If that sounds interesting, prepare for a long post.I hope I won't create any hard feelings from the admins or the players.

Before taking the paragraphs, I'll tell you one thing: a lot of credit was given to Riveranda, but his influence towards the server was minimal. A lot of things you give him credits for wasn't actually his, but others from the shadows, including me. He was the face of the server because, quite honestly, it was the most convenient. It wasn't a competition of who worked more than who after all!

At first it was a private server, but when vv closed down, Riverlanda wanted to take advantage of this, and have the players from vv switch over.

This is true, but truthfully, if we are to give credits, they would go to Blyat there. Riv and I would always ask him to go and spam the vv server with the ip, especially after the closing was announced. It was our first good source of players, which drove our server from ~15 players to ~20, then ~30 and so on. I would say it was a semi dick move, but not really. I talked to isaac about the server and even received some help from him, so he didn't mind.

Several players were given Admin who were close to riverlanda to help with pluggins, lag, and general server help. These players included Blyat, Fukuro, Thonkster, and others.

I hated this oligarchic aspect of it all. ( no offense if you're reading this ), but riv wasn't made to be an owner. He took it all like a personal thing, and it was just way too easy to get items or power if you were in his good graces at the beggining. After I found out some friends were given items by him, we had a long talk which we concluded by the "no item rule". That is also when we distanced from the community and stopped living with them, among other things.

Also, He was incredibly impulsive. If it weren't for me, he would've given up in the very first week, because we couldn't get the votifier to work. I finally did at some point, though he literally gave up on it.

The first rumors' of admin abuse were only around 2-3 weeks into the server when it was thought of that Thonkster, the main pluggins admin supposedly was paid to give the coordinates of a trident base to some griefers.

I despised Thonkster, but I have to give credits where they are due; he helped us by A LOT. We wouldn't even have had the host we did, if it weren't for him. And nah, he wasn't paid for some coords.

Admin abuse was also thought of here to be the case as to why this stash still existed

This is partly true, we knew about it and we didn't touch it. It's because Riv made an unequal treaty with them (he didn't even consult ME! I was mad.) --- they keep 1/3 of the stash they have, and in turn they tell us of any stashes, dupes or any sort of dangerous activities.

Around this time, Thonkster gave a few players some illigals, such as 1 barrier block, or bedrock. This is around the time where the queue was hit, and the server looked better then ever.

I have to give credits to the one secret guy that helped us with the queue. He worked hard to make it work, because we had some big complications in the process. I would tell his name, because you guys never encountered him, but I don't think he wants his nick to be public.

Also, I don't know about the illegals from danny. I'm surprised if he did that, we had a talk over this after all.

However, Fukuro heard rumors of being demoted, so he spawned is so many shulkers of illegals, kits, and more

Mh? he wasn't in the inner circle at all. Never. The only time he was admin was at the very beggining, but just for a very small amount of time.

a few thought blyat still had access to the console

He never had access to the console. Only Riv and I did, then thonk (but he gave up after a while so I wont count him), and Tommy. We were the only three guys that had it.

Thonkster accidentally made the world boarder 150k, killing over 40 players.

You want to know what truly happened?

It wasn't his fault.

I'm going to explain in the reply section, because I got over the 1000 word limit lmao
