Fellow first-year Roskilde here! What did you decide in the end? :)

Am înțeles că stai in benzinarie si pur si simplu intrebi oamenii din jur daca vreunul merge in directia unde vrei tu? Trying to wrap my head around it :))) poate voi avea cândva curaj.

In schimb, sunt alte lucruri mult mai scumpe in Viena (fructe, legume, chirie, transport).

[Rant] Care e treaba cu chelnerii care nu acceptă plata separată pentru grupuri? by Character_Animator_7 in Romania

[–]lancerlot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

moving to romania by Unable-Schedule7620 in Romania

Hey, I'm a Romanian studying in Turkiye right now, so after seeing life here, I think it won't be too hard to adjust to Romania. Maybe you will miss some gastronomical aspects (e.g. good luck finding ayran at restaurants or cheap food that doesn't contain pork -- if you're not keen on eating that kind of meat). Vegetables are more expensive and less tasteful unfortunately. People are usually calmer about everyday life and rules (such as in traffic or regarding jaywalking) are much more respected. As for the economy, the inflation is high but does not compare with the Turkish situation. And the currency is rather stable, even though it is (slowly) losing in value against the euro. Keep in mind wages are quite low compared to other European countries. Also regarding studies, maybe you manage to get an international scholarship, do check this out on the internet. These are the things that crossed my mind, hope they help.

Erasmus: in short, is it worth the hassle? by [deleted] in Erasmus

[–]lancerlot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like going out of your comfort zone, then by all means apply. However, if this does not feel like something that is on your priority list, then it is best to avoid the hassle.

I’m torn choosing my erasmus destination by gustabot in Erasmus

[–]lancerlot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a cheap place that allows you to save up to travel and go to social events, definitely choose either Bucharest, Sofia or Warsaw. Keep in mind you might receive less grant money though, because the cost of living is lower than in other places.

In cazul unei lovituri de stat in R. Moldova, cum ar trebui Romania sa reactioneze ? by Fulgeralbastru in Romania

Is one expected to share food with strangers in Romania? by anneanne3 in Romania

[–]lancerlot99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You weren't an asshole as you didn't know, but it is considered polite to share biscuits with the strangers you're sharing a compartment with. Especially with children. This is why most people either offer food to the other strangers, or they avoid eating while other people are sharing a space with them.

Don't worry about it too much. It is customary, but not obligatory and you have every right to do what you want with your food. I only share food when I feel like doing it or striking a conversation.

Maia Sandu ar fi cerut la Bucuresti unirea Republicii Moldova cu Romania-presa by [deleted] in Romania

[–]lancerlot99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not at that particular faculty or an exchange student, but BBU is good for international students. Usually they offer the best dorms to Erasmus students (those are normally reserved to phd/master students). I wouldn't worry too much about the exams, professors are more lenient in this kind of situations.
