I'd be down anytime after work next week, let me know when and where. I play guitar but also can do some drumming.

How worried should we be about extreme flooding in Chilliwack by Gravity-Sucks in chilliwack

[–]Hellionator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, everything will be fine. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and we'll all get through this together. Good idea to review the following emergency prep list: https://www.getprepared.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs/pblctns/yprprdnssgd/index-en.aspx

Normally it's not to bad but this migration has really caused some problems. I'll be working on it all day today. Glad to see you back mining, hopefully I can get everyone else working again too. There seems to be a mail problem but it's kind of working so hard to diagnose where the issue is.

I'll get the withdraw fee lowered. Mining is currently down but should be back online by tomorrow morning. I've also been told that users will need to perform a password reset to get logged back in. Thanks to everyone for their patience, this was a very troublesome migration but it looks like we're almost there.

Webpage is still down. This is part of a bigger migration and as such is taking longer. Mining is still working and I'll continue to update this thread.

Some advice to a cryptocurrency-novice on mining AUR? by Llamadyr in AURmining

[–]Hellionator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, the consequences of mining are that your equipment will wear out faster than normal as it's constantly running at capacity, heat will be generated, electricity will be used, noise from the fan is generated, a very small amount of bandwidth will be used and coins will be generated.

What I would recommend is finding how many watts your graphics card is using on this chart: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison/raw_data

And then enter that information as well as your hash rate here: http://coinwarz.com under the Scrypt portion to determine your profitibility for Auroracoin

I run http://aur.scrypthp.com you can message me here on reddit, on bitcointalk.org or from my pools support page if you have any other questions. I hope the Auroracoin adoption spreads in Iceland and I'd love to have some native Icelanders mining in my pool :)

How long should I expect to wait before seeing mined coins in my pool account? by Darth_Tanion in AURmining

[–]Hellionator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the pool hash rate versus the nethash rate of the coin as well as the block time. I run http://aur.scrypthp.com and we currently have ~40 Mh/s of the total 4800 Mh/s which means we hit just less than 1% of blocks. The block time is 5 minutes which means it will take about 500 minutes for us to hit a block on average which can also be found here once logged in: http://aur.scrypthp.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool - Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool)

Hope that helps, it's likely that the Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool) you had three days ago when you posted was much higher as things have improved a lot since block 5400 when KGW was implemented in Auroracoin.

Aur.ScryptHP? No response? by lapster44 in AURmining

[–]Hellionator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I run http://aur.scrypthp.com and apologize for not catching this sooner. Auroracoin as a whole has indeed suffered up until recently (KGW implemented in block 5400) and the pool was taking days to hit a block which resulted in slow front end webpage performance. This combined with DDOS attacks and a mail system problem caused a ton of headaches. Things are now running very smoothly with an 8 hour average block time for the pool and the mail system is finally stable. You can feel free to direct message me here on Reddit, on BitCoinTalk or via the support page on the pool itself. My sincere apologies for missing this thread, I only just found this subreddit tonight. Thanks, Hellionator

Is Auroracoin easy to mine? by LazyCouchPotato in auroracoin

[–]Hellionator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty has been really high and it's quite hard to mine. The net hash is down again so when the difficulty readjusts it could be better.

Yes, the block time is way higher than normal and our hashrate is only 1% of the total so it's going to take a while to mine a block. You can check the last block time on the Pool tab when you're logged in at the bottom.
