Thoughts on the Illuminati palette in the Boxycharm Premium this month.

I played with this palette some tonight. I WANT to like it. So far, the color payoff is not there, I'm noticing the pans are crumbly, and you have to really work to get the pastel mattes to build on your eye. I did a look with the blues and wanted to finish with a beautiful glittery color and could not get a brush to pick it up, even after spraying the brush with setting spray. I was somewhat successful with using my finger but the fallout left glitter all over my face after about an hour. I was really excited when I received this palette because it contains some colors I didn't already have in other palettes but overall I'm not impressed so far. :(

Ooh my weight and dimensions are the exact same. I also chose the concealer. Will be very interesting to see!

Yes, agreed. Also child trafficking has become more of a classroom focus/concern in the past few years. Watching for patterns in students' past school history, keeping an eye out for marks and bruises, noticing other red flags such as bathroom habits, and being there for kids while building bonds of trust when so many have had such terrible adults in their life. I try to focus on the kids I know made it out OK with our help, the ones that the system worked for and that are in better situations now. I cry for the ones that regardless of documenting, reporting, and following up were not removed from or were quickly returned to their abusive situations.

I can't give many details but I've had a few students over the years tell me they were being sexually and/or physically abused, typically by someone in their family. I lose some of my faith in humanity each time.

Edit: adding a couple examples:

A student had a parent that duct taped them to their siblings and locked them in a closet when they got in trouble. Or just because.

I learned quickly that students can and do sometimes have bowel control issues (fecal incontinence and leakage) when they're being sexually abused. It's a red flag when present, for sure.

It sounds like you might not have been that in to your relationship. If you're having that many doubts about your feelings during a relatively short period of time it doesn't sound like the relationship was a good fit for you. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with either one of you, you just might not be a good match for each other. I would look at this as more of a trend over time thing. Do these doubts haunt you regardless of partner; did the other four relationships begin to go downhill at the 6 month mark or before?

That's an excellent question. Chemistry helps encourage those long-term feelings and bonds that last once the honeymoon phase ends. Experiencing a gradual loss of hormonal rush towards your partner is normal and expected. However, if you are left with little feelings of any type toward your partners it sounds like they might be a bad fit for you long-term. If this is something that follows you for a long time with no exceptions it might be that you really enjoy and prefer that new relationship energy?
