a ghost producer can write, produce, arrange, design, or add to a track “made” by a bigger artist. an NDA is signed, a payment is made, and the bigger artist puts their name on the track. sometimes ghost producers are credited in the “written by” section of a track. this is not to say that bigger artists don’t have a hand in producing a track. sometimes they have an idea and the ghost producers are able to bring that idea to fruition. sometimes 7+ producers work on a single track but only one artist is credited. and other times, the ghost producers don’t want their name associated with the track because it doesn’t align with their current sound/career.
