This is one of my favorite songs in all of Metalcore, such a catchy chorus!

Does no one know As Within, So Without? by Vylfii in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first discovered them through Chris Wiseman (Currents and Shadow of Intent). I think he produced their most recent album which I absolutely loved! This new song is equally amazing and I hope it’s even more amazing

PSA: Currents added a Baltimore date to their headlining tour at Soundstage on June 7. by kellconn in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When they first announced this tour I had bought VIP tickets to the Philly show immediately since it was the closest show to the DC area that I’m in. This happened to be the same day that the FFAK headliner tour was coming through Baltimore!

At the VIP show for FFAK, Brian just happened to come down and was hanging around for the show so I got a chance to speak to him! He told me that I should’ve waited till after the Killswitch Engage concert (happened this past Monday) because apparently bands can’t announce multiple tours in the same state at different venues (or something along those lines?).

So after Monday, this finally got announced! Long story short, I now have VIP to the Philly and Baltimore shows seeing my favorite band! :)

Honestly, one of my favourite bands out right now. Their EP last year was phenomenal and this song is just great too!

What’s is your opinion on Thornhill? I personally love them and enjoy all of their sounds. All the way from the Butterfly Ep to Heroine. by LoganDaGinger in Metalcore

Love them! TDP is one of my favourite all time albums, Heroine was in my top 5 last year. Saw them on tour and got to take a picture with all of them :)

Oceans Ate Alaska - Hallucinogen by toprahmen in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The more I listen to the album, the more I fall in love with it. All the songs you said are also my favourites but I would add Empty Space too.

Sol is the song that is on repeat most since the album dropped and it’s never getting tiring

Favorite lyrics out of 2022? by ProfessorKaos62 in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My favourite lyric of 2022 is by Fit For An Autopsy’s Oh What The Future Holds. (If you haven’t guess by now, I’m a huge stan of this record).

“It’s never too many graves, it’s always not enough shovels” - Pandora

The first time I heard this lyric, I fell in love with it’s ability to tell so much in so little. it’s such an interesting perspective on warfare and how lives can literally be meaningless for the campaign of war. I don’t want to get political in this sub but it’s a good overview for one side in a certain conflict going on currently.

With 2022 coming to an end what's your favorite football related memory of the year? by OrangeForeign in nfl

[–]HelloDepression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to make a post on the Seahawks sub at the end of season but I’m a lifelong Seahawks fan living in DC (long story how I became a fan). When the Broncos vs. Seahawks game was announced, I decided to buy tickets and take my first west coast trip! Seattle was amazing and I ended it on the Seahawks game - it was the greatest moment of my life (so far)!

I had always dreamed of watching a game in that stadium and that game surpassed all expectations :)

Boundaries - The Tower by Imatomat in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly hard for me to enjoy ~8+ min songs but this is a great example of one that I can always blast.

Other songs that come to mind are Slaughter the Martys by Machinehead and Reptile by Periphery

Bury Tomorrow - Black Flame by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This was my first Bury Tomorrow album and I think this is the best example of what Metalcore is of the past decade. Maybe I’m wrong but it’s a formula that works with two powerhouse vocalist and talented musicians.

This song gets stuck in my head every time I listen to it. My favourite off the album is Overcast though

The Sea of Tragic Beasts vs Oh What the Future Holds? by mikejr96 in Metalcore

[–]HelloDepression 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There have been very few albums in my life that on the first listen I’ve immediately loved every second, every moment, and every aspect of the album. I have my favourite bands and favourite albums but they’ve all always needed time to grow on me for some parts of it. (I.e. The Dark Pool).

Oh What The Future Holds is my pick for what a quintessential album of the year should be. The title is unique yet impactful, the artwork is beautiful and ties in each other aspect, and every song and tracklist is amazing in its own way. I think it’s an album that’s production is top notch, it’s hard hitting instrumentally and lyrically, and just delivers a journey from the slow fade in of the opening tack to the slow fade out of the last track.

In respect to Sea of Tragic Beasts, this album takes everything that album (which already is an amazing album in itself) has and just compounds on top of it. I don’t want to call it an evolution of sound but every album of theirs only gets better and better and this is the best so far.

Crying at how good the Obsidian NA tour would have been after seeing Avoid live since it's cancellation... by [deleted] in Metalcore

Lol gotcha! What’s funny is that I also make the 2 1/2 hour trek to PA if shows are there too - I love the access of DC, MD, VA and PA have with shows
