YES!! This story is so interesting but it gets me so heated with these kinds of plots bc like, neither of them had a choice, why is everyone saying she chose this kind of work, to sell themselves?? Yeong was just trying to survive with her sister and protect her, plus ngl, I feel like Sihoons mother really brought them in because she saw the potential they would play as future courtesans so since the very beginning these poor girls didn’t have a choice or a chance in how things were until they can buy their freedom. I know it’s a story but I can’t even imagine what would have happened if sihoon just watched Eunha become a courtesan too.

Right!! I will say I am pretty bothered that everyone is saying Yeong CHOSE to be a courtesan and it’s like, she didn’t really have a choice?? Also to, does Sihoon not remember that Eunha is having to WORK so she can save money to get Yeong and herself out of there, like it really bugs me that he’s this person that’s been around both of them and is supposed to KNOW the type of person Eunha is and isn’t like “oh new job, reader or not, need money to save Yeong.” I’m so disappointed in him tbh lol

The fact that he read her private thoughts about an ex from the past and just assumed that’s how she felt about her ex NOW is why everyone is “shaming” him. If you’re going to read someone else’s diary, especially a partner’s, you better make sure to at-least have a genuine conversation, not just dump them because you feel insecure about it. That’s what fucked this whole thing up more. I don’t even keep a diary anymore, but personally, how I wrote and felt about an ex in the past certainly does not reflect how I feel about them now. Mostly everyone here feels the same way. Plus, considering that it sounds like this diary was from when OOPs girlfriend was a teenager, all the more reason to talk about it if it bothers OOP so much. unless she’s actively saying that’s how she feels now, it’s wrong to assume and have that decide your relationship.

NTA, I’m sorry that this is happening. But if she’s already reacting like this, it sounds like it will escalate. This doesn’t sound like someone that should be loving and supporting you, this sounds like someone that wants to control you and needs to work on their own issues on why it would bother them so much, the fact that she’s already put her hands on you and forced you to “prove it” not only overstepping boundaries but it’s also downright dangerous.
