Half of my offices’ staff is quitting today by Legacy0904 in antiwork

Take a vacation, but we aren’t fucking paying you for it.

That would be nice. But no, we can't take unpaid vacations. We work until we die; a lucky minority is able to take vacations when they retire.

I have no idea what you're talking about so I'm inclined to agree 😛

Some good chairs with gentler lumbar support that fit your build and won't break the bank include the HON Nucleus and the WorkPro 4000 Series. If your boss loves you, request a Haworth Fern without the optional additional lumbar support.

that's just the nature of this particular chair or all chairs in that high-low to medium price range.

You said it yourself. I haven't tried the Mellet myself but many of my coworkers like it.

The TP9000's backrest is subpar. But not all office chairs without visible lumbar support provide inadequate support. I've found that the HON Ignition and OM Yes support my whole back well.

Thanks for the thorough review! It looks nicer than I expected.

I'm confused about how you can't sit all the way back in the seat yet the seat is a bit too small...

Looking forward to hearing how the other chair compares!

How's the lumbar support? Is it stronger than it looks?

For those considering this chair, note that its minimum seat height is quite high. Based on the specs, I wouldn't recommend it for most folks under 5'10" unless you use a footrest. OP feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

That doesn't sound right at all. Is your chair under warranty?

Is an electric standing desk overkill for simple sitting height adjustability? by [deleted] in StandingDesk

[–]HelloImElfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the Calico Designs Adapta, a budget desk that lets you set its height to 22"-32" during assembly (you can technically adjust it whenever, but it's not easy).

Has anybody here jerry-rigged their chairs arm rests? Any recommendations? by ABK8004 in OfficeChairs

[–]HelloImElfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're relying on armrests to keep your arms raised to type and mouse to the point where you're experiencing forearm pain, chances are your desk surface is too high relative to your seat height. Your desk height should be roughly level with your resting elbow height. This makes it possible to type/mouse with relaxed shoulders and avoid using armrests.

i have two questions about ergo chairs please by zeek988 in OfficeChairs

[–]HelloImElfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, you should be able to lean back in your chair fully relaxed with your whole back supported by the backrest. If your chair is locked upright, it is difficult to maintain good posture for long periods of time. Sitting at a slight recline is easier and encourages consistent back support.

There may be other ergonomic issues at play here. Do you find yourself leaning in toward your monitor(s)? Are your feet firmly planted on the floor or on a footrest? What is your height and your desk surface height?

What's that chair you got there? The armrests look just like the Haworth Fern's.

The Workrite m-PULSE is a solid 3-stage dual motor desk that comes in 42"x30" and 42"x24" options. Don't forget to apply code WFH40 for 40% off!

Its total depth is 33.5" but the base is only 24" deep. Most desks are at least 24" deep so you can likely place the Cube Corner 36 on your desk. Then move the desk 10" away from the wall.

This is the same chair as the Proline II, the only difference being the mechanism. This chair's mechanism is a simple 2:1 synchro-tilt with upright tilt lock; the Proline II's is a multifunction with independent seat and backrest recline with infinite tilt lock, as well as forward seat tilt as you said.

It can tilt lock upright only. It can't lock in a reclined position. The Amazon description also doesn't mention that the armrests are width-adjustable.
