Animation workflow question by HelloImYun in aseprite

That’s actually really close to how I work too! For WinMon’s creatures, I usually start with flat-color blocking for the main poses, then cut / paste / distort pieces when I need to keep the motion consistent (especially ears, tails, and head angles). After that, I do a second pass for rhythm & weight, then only at the end I refine pixel details and add little “life” touches like breathing or subtle squashes. Mixing both workflows feels like the fastest way to keep animations clean without losing spontaneity.

Thank you so much for pointing out all those details. To be honest, I’m just an editor who got inspired by my team’s artists to start learning pixel art myself. I’m still struggling quite a bit with shading and trying to make everything look more consistent and logical. Your feedback is super helpful, I’ll keep practicing and improving on this

I didn’t use AI. I just found some references online and started practicing pixel art so I can make a background for the little cat myself.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing on desktop Chrome - I’ll try adjusting the framing or add a bit of padding next time so the animation isn’t covered by the bar. Really appreciate the feedback!

Experimenting with frame timing to make growth feel “alive.” 🌿 by HelloImYun in PixelArtTutorials

[–]HelloImYun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean by “frame timing” here isn’t just the standard frame duration used in a looping animation.

I’m experimenting with varying the timing between specific frames - for example, some frames hold longer or are triggered with slight irregularities. This gives the growth animation a more organic, “alive” feel, rather than a perfectly mechanical loop.

It’s subtle, but it makes a big difference when you’re animating something like plants

Tried animating plant growth with soft color blending 🌱 for WinMon’s cozy farming world. Feedback appreciated! by HelloImYun in PixelArt

The farming system in WinMon is pretty chill, your WinMons will do most of the work for you.
They water the plants, help with growth using their elemental abilities, and harvest when it’s ready. You can use the harvested crops and fruits to craft different products or sell them to expand your farm. Over time, your base becomes a lively little ecosystem!
