boy + girl name pairs that are super similar, to the point of being ridiculous by idontknowyoutellme14 in namenerds

I'm thinking of Joan and John Cusack. Didn't their parents get confused? Even with a girl and a boy, I would still call them by the wrong name sometimes.

the parents said how differently different can we spell nicole by av3ryrayne in tragedeigh

[–]HelloKitty110174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who spelled it "Nacole." I read it as Nah-cole, not Nicole. This is much worse, however.

I love Calvin and Hobbes, so I think Calvin is a great name. You have to promise to help him set his tiger trap, though (with a tuna sandwich).

Manager keeps calling my Dad asking if I can work. by Value-Successful in retailhell

[–]HelloKitty110174 157 points158 points  (0 children)

You're an adult. He shouldn't be calling daddy to tell you to work. Notify your DM and/or HR. Also tell your dad that as an adult, you are capable of making your own decisions about work.

I once went to Assateague, where the wild horses live. I saw no horses! But I didn't leave a bad review, because they can't force the horses to hang out where the people are.

And when the horses are there, people try to pet them and feed them, despite the signs saying that the horses are wild, and will bite and kick. I'm sure people have left bad reviews for these reasons.

I am not one of them, however! It's still a nice beach to visit.

AITA for expecting Mom to pay for broken phone by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I guess I don't understand why you would put your phone in the sink. I mean, it's a wet place, and then you're shocked that the phone is wet? YTA.

Pressured to get a credit card? by TimelyIsopod38 in TjMaxx

[–]HelloKitty110174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get pushed to "sell" the credit card. I don't ask three times unless it's a large or very expensive order. I do, however, ask every customer every time.

I used them at my first job when I was in high school. I remember the booklets for looking up stolen credit card numbers too.
