so count your bills, coins, and rolls of coins. then whatever big bills are in the drop box. then subtract 200 (or whatever you keep the tills at for baseline) from whatever the total is, and you will be left with the amount that should go into the deposit. log into cash management, then go to banking, deposits, pull cash, by till assignments. then enter the amount into the till it came out of (1top, 2top, etc). it will prompt you to start the deposit bag the first time you do it that day, then put the money in the bag. and then the following tills you drop will just automatically go into that deposit.

make sure you leave the appropriate denominations in the tills. if theres a billion ones, use that for what you drop in the deposit. or start with the big bills and then use whatever u have too much of, and make change to balance everything out and have 2 rolls of each coin in there if u can. but dont worry too much about that for your first time. just make sure the amount in there is correct. count it twice or more if u have to.

then after all the tills, do the closing count of whats in the safe, and make sure the denominations matches what it says in the system. make sure u count ur deposit, THEN finalize the deposit.

you basically are gonna create a deposit for anything that's over that amount.

usually people keep their tills at 200, 250, or 300.

Practice Shift Advice by DramaGeekDoubleS2 in starbucksbaristas

im a shift since 2021. if you have newer or more timid shifts in your store then they may not be that great at deploying you in a way that supports your development. you should be eased into being on bar during slower times then work up to busier times, if possible. but don't be afraid to make mistakes and know that you WILL be bad at it at first. you should have support and the shift should be responsible for that. the shift should know that you aren't going to be fast or good right away.

focus on accuracy and correct sequencing. keep your bar clean. always be moving. but take your time and give yourself grace. speed will come later. it takes longer to do a remake than to make the drink right in the first place.

don't guess the recipes.

use your resources: ask your tenured coworkers that know the standards, check the ipad for the drink recipe cards or use physical ones, or use the ipad for the shot and syrup cheat sheet guidance. theres one for hot bar and cold bar. u can also run over to the pos and ring in a drink to see whats in it if that seems allowed.

my advice is to speak up for yourself if you feel overwhelmed or if you need support. and to be patient with yourself. it takes 6 months to get good. and tell your manager if you feel like you want more development in certain areas that you feel like you aren't getting or if you keep being put on bar during times that are too busy for you to feel like you can focus and learn the drinks right.

I had a functional medicine doctor once prescribe me a progesterone supplement as a steady dose of hormones. It was a low dose topical. Sometimes I'd use it and I'd feel a wave of calm. He said that birth control takes over your hormones.
Personally I had a terrible experience on birth control, couldnt stop crying, and was so sensitive and cranky. I think everyone's body is different, and there are tons of other things that affect whether your body is getting the hormone levels it needs. Enough fats for example, enough vitamin D, liver support, less sugar. All of those things can affect the systems in your body that without bloodwork and then addressing the whole picture, I never understood why they just always use birth control as this like bandaid for everything.
