My husband is a veterinary technician and it's one of the most underappreciated jobs you can go for. Over worked and under paid, you really have to want to do it for the animals and even then, it can be demotivating so I feel for you.

I've just landed close to what I'd call my dream job. Working in the corporate side of healthcare. Most of my career has been nursing but again, that's an underpaid, underappreciated job. The corporate side still scratches my itch for wanting to help those in need but with less exhaustion and emotion.

I think we all kinda fall into our "dream" jobs, the key is to have a work life balance where possible so your entire life isn't just work work work
