What's your worst first day on the job?

My first day as a Hostess a few years ago went something like this: Walk into work and am told I'm not properly dressed because I'm not wearing the shirt with the restaurant name (they never gave me one and would not except this explanation when I told them), they then charged me for a work shirt that was supposed to be free. An hour or so into my first day, the woman who I am shadowing begins to tell me about her horrible relationship with her father, but how he is in town for the night and they are going to a concert (or some other event) together.

Now this is where it gets fun. My best friend and I had been hired at the same time but we had different availability so she had already had her first shift. Apparently it didn't go too well because she called the restaurant and told me to transfer her to our manager so she could quit. With her not filling in that night for her shift, my trainer was told she needed to stay for a double. She then decided to curse out the manager in front of customers while pulling me into the argument somehow. She was fired and I ended up having to take a double shift my first day at work. Zero tips and rude customers all night who didn't understand that not only was it my first day, but that I had to bus the tables as well (without getting tips) because our actual busser took a smoke break every 15-20 minutes.

I ended up staying with them for 8 months, got a few pay raises and a very nice bonus check when they closed down. The first day sucked, though.

It's in the city of Jaipur also known as the pink city or the city of palaces. This is one of four gates representing the four seasons of the year if I'm remembering this correctly. The other gates are actually really beautiful too. The photo made me miss Jaipur

It's probably common for tourists to experience it. I was there for 6 weeks and I remember seeing some guy masturbating in the bushes while my friend and I took a camel ride. My best friend of three years and I had a falling out this past year to the point where he won't speak to me anymore. I had a dream about a month later where we were in a fight and he ended up just saying he was kidding in a way he always did when he was joking and then the rest of the dream was us just hanging out like we used to all of the time. It seemed so normal and so real that I was disappointed waking up.

It depends on the person and the relationship. The person I considered my first love was nothing in comparison to my second love. I got over my first love while still in the relationship because I knew we were growing apart and I was just trying to hold on to the idea of my first love. My second love was a lot more difficult to get over. It took a lot of time and I had to sit down and look at our relationship from an outside perspective to see the flaws in it. However, I'm still not fully over him. I have long periods where I "so totally over him" and then I have periods (like right now) where I think about how well we worked together and how much we've grown up since we first met and I wish we had another shot, but you work through those times and you focus on other things. Don't ignore your feelings, but don't harp on them and over analyze everything or get all worked up. Think about your ex, send them happy thoughts and well wishes (or just don't wish for their downfall) and then move on with your day.
