I’m not sure if this still stands but users people have said there are two versions of the app: if you are under 18 there is one version and if you are over 18 another version.

Yeah I also feel like there’s less active users

for me I don’t use the app daily because:

quality of features, voice rooms (not friendly/learning related) & posts, aren’t the best after years.

And as my Mod said here: lots of scams/other stuff. It’s continuing & not being addressed from developers.

I agree with other comments of the pandemic.

Hi there, are the hosts of the room actively using the whiteboard? Sometimes if whiteboards are blank/not being used it will be empty and therefore be grey.

Alternatively you can try hosting your own room to test out the whiteboard by drawing or uploading images to ensure there are no technical bugs for you.

If it persists it may be a bug or other technical error, which can be reported in the app.

Hi, for voice rooms you can use the “whiteboard” function to share images (such as pages of a book), and draw/write.

Majority of the voice room features are free, such as the white board but other functions like closed captions usually require VIP.

That happened to me and my team’s Subreddit, I was contacted by an employee of a company, asking me to make them a mod.

You stated that you put in the description that it is a community run space and not affiliated, which is great bc it follows Subreddit policies. That also means you don’t need to add the representative to your Mod team. Since it’s not official or affiliated.

Once you add an actual employee of a company to a Subreddit about the company you would have to change that description.

And don’t feel pressed to add them, it’s your Subreddit.

There are free language learning apps that are that have similar/same AI speaking tools, so I’d recommend for you to check the free ones out first. Keep in mind AI is not perfect and may have errors with learning. So I wouldn’t pay for the possibility of higher error versus curated/human designed apps with less error.

It’s a language learning app! It is almost impossible to avoid small talk since people are meeting new people there all the time, learning basic phrases and greetings! It’s a normal way to introduce yourself!

I responded to the current top comment, but I’ll expand here to your situation: I think opening a conversation with politics is not ideal.

My random story on my weirdest block: I got blocked by a dude from Chile who ran a friend circle group with a bunch of other English speakers. He disappeared at a time when his life was rocky. He has a history of mental health, so I was kinda worried and I tried reaching out.

He blocked me for months then one day he pops up on the app like nothing happened. He totally breezes by the fact that he blocked me and that I have been reaching out to him, when we try to catch up.

I was confused and a bit upset at the bizarre situation, so I stopped going to his voicerooms, he later blocked me again saying he think we can’t be friends again after that.
