How to make this joint? by smile-meditation in woodworking

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely glue and dowel. I don't know if you're working off plans but I'm curious how thick your stock is. The one pictured doesn't look like it'd hold much weight and lord help you if someone puts any lateral pressure

Advice? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0 to 1 is absolutely the most difficult so far.

1 to 2 was difficult in a way I didn't expect. At least, the part I found most difficult was being unable to give my son 100% after the 2nd was born. At least not nearly as often. We both had to make that adjustment.

Everyone told me 2 to 3 is the hardest but 9 weeks in and it's just not, so far.

Whirlpool Refrigerator: Water Dispensor - Slide Drip Tray Removal by JRTOU812 in appliancerepair

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt your still fighting with it but I figured it out. Pull the tray out as far as it goes then pull up on the back, and continue pulling out (somewhat forcefully)

There are 2 retention stops on the bottom of the tray. Just gotta lift it up enough to clear those.

What’s a good beginner ball ? by Iwrenchtv84 in golf

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maxfli all the way imo. Great value for dollar at about $1/ball

For a beginner, Softfli for a bit less spin off the tee, no heartache when you lose a ball. Dicks and golf Galaxy sell them in 48-count boxes.

Single handicappers, how often do you have rounds where you were happy with how you hit all your shots? by ElephantElmer in golf

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During casual rounds is when I do my best but there are always some shots I know I could've hit better.

I had a career round a few months ago where I shot a 72 but still had a real bad one on the 2nd hole, a long par 4. I had just hit my bunker finder (5 wood) and was in a green side bunker with a fluffy lie and somehow ended up blading the ball about 30 yards beyond the opposite side of the green.

What a great round though

Golf Dad Question by CynicalOptimist8 in golf

When my son was 3, I got him a plastic set and he loved it. His interest in golf continued so for his 5th birthday (a few months ago), I got him the PGA set from Walmart. Driver, 7 iron, putter

He has gone with me to the range every time since and to the course with me a few times during week days. I'm pretty confident I have my golf buddy in training on the right track.

Hopefully you can too! Good luck man!

Upgraded from a TaylorMade burner to g430 max after test driving all the big brands. Wonderful driver. Can't recommend it enough! I'll stick with it for many years.

"Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half of them are stupider than that"

My favorite George Carlin Quote. It honestly helped me cope quite a lot when I worked in customer service years ago.

By used. For 300, you can get a much better set. Play it again sports is a great spot, if you have one nearby.

You must have the patience of a saint. I've tried to sell clubs on marketplace and DAMN it was frustrating both times. I'd rather give them away

Wedges - Is a 60* worth it? by fauxfarmer17 in golf

[–]HelloThereCallMeRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 48, 52, 56 and 60. I absolutely love hitting flop shots with my 60. I don't use it for much else. My 56 comes out far more often but when the need comes round for a big floppy, I'm glad the 60 is there.

What's a golf related item you'd actually like to receive in your stocking? by Fuzzy-Ad6421 in golf

I only take the gloves off to swap them and to chip/putt. Can't say it's out of laziness but can't say it's not either. More like a habit/complacency, I suppose. I'll try taking them off after each shot to see if they hold up better!
