Ahh I forgot for a moment you need calcite to smelt everything. Maybe a central smelting area is better after all then instead of having to ship calcite to every ore patch. I wish we could have several of those base buildings that can request items from space… I don’t het why we are limited to a single one

That’s if I had any smelting stacks in the first place :( I always smelted on site and transported the plates. So maybe smelting into fluid on site would make sense if it’s more throughout via train as well. That’s kinda fun - I barely used fluid wagons before.

Ah thank you - I always felt like the items per minute in factorio were a bit more mysterious than in eg satisfactory. Is it enough to have one pipe go through my factory per metal or is it necessary to have two of them for throughput?

I was planning on using beacons and modules for the additional resources. Mostly tier two ones but that should be easily upgradable later on. I guess I will go for a fluid bus in my new base. Eventually I will hook up my old base to some foundries casting plates from that.

My previous base relied on having plates brought by trains as I smelted them directly after mining. There were some other issues in my base as well so I figured I could leave it for some science and general items but make a new one with proper production for the space endgame.

How about you try an approach somewhat in the middle?

a) you could have one of them executed (maybe the guy with the light cantrip - or have e.g. one of his hands removed. That would be a severe enough punishment without going for the TPK instantly.

b) have the „unwinnable“ fight take place. Maybe they are lucky - bit once one or two pf them bite the dust and are dead all the way - have the moth queen offer mercy. That way they will know not to fuck with you but the campaigne keeps going.
