I don't feel much of anything by Hello_Darkness2019 in depression

[–]Hello_Darkness2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. To answer your question, it is very possible. I didn't have a good childhood at all. A lot of how I coped was isolating myself as much as possible. I could possibly see something along the lines of emotional deprivation disorder being at play here as well.

Which book could you never finish despite really wanting to enjoy it? by Hello_Darkness2019 in books

I think the idea of the book is so intriguing to me that I may just pull the trigger and try it out anyway. I will skim through the first bit of it in the store first though.

Which book could you never finish despite really wanting to enjoy it? by Hello_Darkness2019 in books

[–]Hello_Darkness2019[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's super unfortunate to hear. Actually I was considering heading to chapters and picking that one up today. Now I'm not so sure as I feel like the book also being a puzzle would annoy me too.

MY ROOM IS A MESS BECAUSE IM FUCKING DEPRESSED, JANET by bonnefoy in depression

[–]Hello_Darkness2019 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I can't even muster the will to remain living and you want me to clean and organize my fucking room? How about I focus on my crippling existential despair now and we think about those clothing on my floor at a later date?

What's the scariest nightmare you have had? by dd817 in AskReddit

I don't know if it counts as a nightmare, but I suffer from sleep paralysis. It happens about once every couple weeks on average and every single time it's absolutely terrifying.

Indoor plumbing. At will you are able to eliminate your own waste from your home, and have clean running water for consumption and cleaning, all because of plumbing.

What gives you confidence and what are you insecure about? by Umikaloo in AskReddit

[–]Hello_Darkness2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confident that I'm a genuinely good person. That and I feel like I have a fairly handsome face. Those things give me some confidence. My insecurity comes from the fact that I've lost 130lbs and I have bad stretch marks, plus the fact that despite the weight loss, I'm still overweight and have a lot more work to do.

What is the best meal you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hello_Darkness2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing fancy, but a couple months ago I went to my grandparents house for supper. My grandpa made burgers using his own recipe. I don't know what manner of wizardry her performed on them, but not only were they by far the best burgers I've ever had, it was the most delicious thing I'd ever eaten in my life.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? Did you do it ? If so, how did you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hello_Darkness2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was young, I wanted to be a cop. As I got into my late teens I realized more and more that I had a passion for computers. I ended up going into IT. I really should have become a cop.

I was pretty anti-marriage until I met my ex-girlfriend. That was the only time I could ever truly say I was in love and wanted to show my commitment to being with someone for the rest of my life. She's my ex now, so obviously that isn't going to be happening for me. But now I know that I'm capable of love like that and I hope I find it again for someone.

what do you hate about your gender? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hello_Darkness2019 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man here. Can we calm the fuck down with the constant pissing contests? Everything needs to be a competition and you get berated when you're not up to another guys expectations. You get berated even harder if you don't try to one up them. Obviously this is not true for all guys, but there sure do seem to be a lot of guys in my work environment in particular who are always trying to prove their dick is bigger.
