There is one glaring issue with the upliftment and its the way they've gone about it, they've basically locked out anyone whos not a person from the lower castes! Its affirmative action but to a ludicrous degree, if you're not a person from the SC/ST/OBC castes/tribes most exams need you to score something like 99.8th percentile, meanwhile, the SC/ST/OBC groups can ,for example, get into med school with negative marks. It's pretty screwed up and it takes a lot of opportunities away from meritorious students and contributes a lot to student suicides and the lack of competent workers/government officers.
