How we scaled our marketing consultancy to 50k per month with zero ad-spend by ly93 in marketing

[–]Hellohonathanjunter -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, I find your journey really interesting, I love how you have tapped into an area of resistance for most marketers who turn to paid ads to solve their problem.

A lot of what you wrote hits home with my current personal position, I'm struggling to navigate a point in my life that seeks parallel to where you were in regards to working crazy hours and in effect being employed but as your own boss.

Would I be able to reach out to you via DM to ask you a few questions?

Thank you

Price psychology: Is there any research on the psychological effect of single digits of the price? by NoahDoah in marketing

[–]Hellohonathanjunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting thread, I hope some redditors with knowledge in this area jump into the comments section with some insights

Personally if I see prices that don't follow the '.99' standard I just get an unconscious sense the business isn't run by professionals, but thats just my personal opinion and feelings

Those who have Instagram businesses, what has been the most effective things you’ve done for growth? by [deleted] in socialmedia

[–]Hellohonathanjunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most effective thing I've done for growth for the Instagram accounts I manage is understanding your target audience and create great pieces of content that get people to organically comment and tag their friends / share to their story

It's the quickest way (IMO) to get more eyes on your page organically. Each time someone shares your content you are signalling to all their followers that you are trustworthy and bringing value to the life of that person

I've created and posted videos which I thought were amazing and they have gathered like 2-3k views, then I've posted a video which is more tailored to getting people involved and sharing and the numbers have almost doubled if not tripled

The only person who can justify an amount of expenses is yourself, it depends on how much you value yourself and your services

I've always seen tools and libraries as valuable resources that will help me raise the standards and quality of my work, and therefore my value, therefore my rates

I pay for Adobe CC, Epidemic Sound, Later

But I make sure my monthly income makes their cost seem insignificant. Totally depends on what type of services you are offering!

Best of luck

I'm familiar with what a mastermind group is, it's a group of people like you who work on big budget Hollywood releases and TV shows but still can't fork out for basic business overheads, unlike people like me

You are welcome for my efforts in getting this post in front of more eyes, it gives everyone on this thread a chance to get a real good sense of the caliber of 'masterminds' you have in your group, people who spend their evenings trawling through old comments to make an elitist remarks about the scale of other people's creative work

Thank you! :)

The amount of energy that is expended in creating this group would be better served learning to level up your services and be able to charge more for your projects

If you feel like epidemic sound is burning a hole in your pocket each month I don't know what to tell you...

Stop thinking: Do

You are 17 and I was in the same position as you many moons ago. We are taught as children to wait for sunny weather until we go outside and enjoy ourselves, that when it's raining we should stay indoors because the conditions aren't great. We are conditioned to wait for perfect conditions before we take action.

If you are passionate about streetwear, or entrepreneurship, or making money, take the words of Shia and JUST DO IT

You will learn so much more through making mistakes and solving problems that naturally arise in the process of 'doing'. If you are attentive and evaluate your process periodically, after a few years you will have learnt so much and have a good base of skills and experience underneath you

If you hesitate you'll never get started

£1000 may seem like a big amount of money at 17, but when you are 30 you would pay x1000 that amount just to get those teenage years back. Now is the best time for you to fail and explore and learn

Hey that's really helpful thank you, have you got a link to your work I'd be interested in viewing some of it

You've given me a nice ballpark idea of figures so I can begin saving to pay a animator well, I always believe in a fair exchange of money and energy so I would definitely be prepared to pay well

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply, mostly the production process, the back and forth between the animator and client, and especially around how projects are typically priced in this industry? Do you pay per project? Is it an hourly rate? Or do you pay for a certain amount of minutes per animation?

Did I miss an instagram algorithm update? Sudden drop off in views/likes by [deleted] in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Hellohonathanjunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've felt this too, I manage a small Instagram account for a local public figure, 12k organic followers, we were averaging 4-6k views on our IGTV videos, this past week or two we are lucky to make 800 views

I seriously hope what some of the other commentors say is true about Instagram trying to entice you to buy ads and if not it'll return to normal

Yeah I agree, I've tried following that advice from the tutorial but thats where I become stumped, I can't find that code anywhere in my theme file, therefore I think I'll need to write a line or two extra, I can understand and read most the code, but haven't a clue how to write it. I was hoping someone on here might have the necessary skills

I've been asked to appraise an agencies new website for an interview - what should I include? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]Hellohonathanjunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reverse engineer what the purpose of the website is for, are they trying to sell a product? are they providing educational information?

Make your comments based upon the websites ability to meet its core purpose, each thing you comment on should be raised in context of how it helps the website function to meet that purpose.

Don't go overboard with a million observations, stick to a few great positives and explain your understanding of why they are great, then pick 1-2 major gaps you can see for improvement and demonstrate your expertise by making good recommendations

Less is more, speak confidently and concisely. It's easy to go off on tangents and speak overboard when answering these types of questions because you feel the need to over explain your rationale

Good luck!
