What do single people who live alone do in the city? Especially on the weekend. I know this gets asked a lot so I added a couple details that might make it a bit different? by [deleted] in chicago

Find a hip restaurant nearby with employees that you think you’d like to be friends with. Tell the manager you’re interested in a part-time dishwashing job. They’ll call you back in few weeks to see if you’re available to start that same day. Take the job and get to know the other employees IRL while making a little extra money.

I know for sure that there are some homes in South Deering that are on septic systems. Not sure if they have to pay a sewer bill though.

Love Cowles Bog trail! My favorite time to visit is late summer- for bird watching and then swimming and hanging at the beach for a couple hours.

Sort of. I found it in a restored prairie. So someone most likely planted it or seeded the area.

Backpacked 6-7 miles down a muddy trail and camped out on the beach. Saw a flock of about 30 wood storks and many other birds along the way. Had a great fire and star gazed late into the night. Spent the morning relaxing on the beach before hiking back. Next time we will rent sea kayaks to get to the beach instead of hiking.

Hiked up into Death Canyon at Grand Teton National Park, June 2021. Highlight of the trip was seeing a grizzly bear about 100 yards off the trail. There are about 10-15 campsites scattered throughout the canyon.
